Long time, no see 👋🏻

I've had to step back from my business a bit since shifting to full time at my day job - but now I have more news! BOOKISHLY VINTAGE IS MOVING!

The shop is currently closed to reflect this, and I will be sharing if/when I reopen. I appreciate all the support you've shown me over the last three years, this little shop has brought me a ton of joy!

Secrets Never Die is a new YA Thriller where a group of teens speak their deepest Secrets to the "dark place" every Halloween, then feel lighter the rest of the year. One day though, they come back to life....

I loved reading this one, and found myself devouring whole chunks each time I sat down! The author did a great job of revealing plot points slowly, and even in the end I'm left guessing who all was involved. I loved the characters, and how their secrets were all related.

All in all, this was a fun read and perfect for this fall! Definite recommend.

My Name is Iris published in early August, and it's a dystopian story where all forms of identification are replaced with a Band. The caveat for getting a band - at least one of your parents has to be an American born citizen.

The main character is trying to find a way to access the band, which she's been denied because she's the child of immigrants - despite doing her best to "act American" the entire time she grew up. On top of that, she's separated from her husband and a mysterious wall popped up on her front lawn. It keeps changing and shifting, adding to all the craziness she's dealing with on a daily basis.

This book definitely resembles a Black Mirror (Netflix) episode, with a lot of racism and "otherness" mixed in. It also ends on an ambiguous note, so I can only hope the characters will end up okay. The story really gripped my interest and I struggled to put it down - it's definitely worth the read!

Camp Damascus is a new adult horror about a Gay Conversion Camp, real life demons, and heavy on religious horrors. Anyone that goes to Camp doesn't remember it, and whenever they start having "unpure" thoughts, a physical demon will manifest (and potentially do some real damage to you too).

This book is gruesome, with a unique mystery element I enjoyed watching unfold. I did feel like the story dragged in some places, and I felt the religiousness was a bit too over the top, but the atmosphere is so well written. The author is open on his views of religion, and how people easily use religious topics to justify their own means.

Plus, you know, there's the element of literal DEMONS being pulled out of another universe and tethered to human beings. That was the most interesting part of this one!

Trying to beat the heat by pretending the weather is cooler! I've fully leaned into fall decorations in Dreamlight Valley and seasonal type books for reading too. One such is Immortal Longings by Chloe Gong - this is the Owlcrate special edition with an exclusive cover & teal sprayed edges.

To fully immerse myself in the ~autumn~ experience, I've also got some seasonal candles and the Pastel Pumpkins book sleeve. Now if only the weather would match!

Adrienne Young is such a talented writer, and I've enjoyed every book she's written! Most recently I listened to Saint on audio, which is the prequel to Fable that I never knew I needed.

Fable is the daughter of Saint, and his book shows how he met the love his life, gained his empire, and became so feared in the Narrows. The book also shows how caring he can be, and how creative he can get with solving problems. He's much more complex than the grumpy old man we first met in Fable!

Sneaking in on the upper right is a NEW print that's coming with the Christmas in July collection. Stay tuned for more details on that one, but I'm aiming for a Friday, July 28 release.
