Some projects are just too good to leave in the archives. 👀🪵

We went WAY back for this one—this custom black walnut kitchen island was built by JR in 2020, and six years later, we’re still obsessed with that wood.

The live edge, all that crazy walnut figure, and the gunmetal-tinted epoxy filling the natural voids made this slab anything but ordinary. And turning it into the centerpiece of a kitchen? Even better.

Projects like this are one of our favorite reminders that custom woodworking can go far beyond a dining table. Kitchen islands, countertops, bars, built-ins, statement pieces—or that idea you’ve had in your head but haven’t quite figured out how to make happen.

Feature Friday ✨ Two tables, two completely different styles!

Why choose one when we have two round tables currently on the showroom floor—both ready for their next home!

First up is a solid pine round table complete with a built-in Lazy Susan right in the center. Plenty of room for everyone to gather around, with a design that’s as functional as it is beautiful.

Then there’s our pineapple-style round table, given new life by JR. He painted and hand-distressed the base to bring out all of its character, then freshly sanded and sealed the natural wood top for a beautiful contrast.

Both comfortably seat 6–8 people, but each brings an entirely different look to the room.

FOREVER HOME FOUND!

This walnut dining table from the showroom recently found the family it was meant for.

With its flowing live edge, custom ocean-inspired epoxy river, and solid walnut beam base, no two pieces like this will ever exist. Every knot, grain pattern, and curve tells its own story—and that’s what makes solid hardwood so special.

We love seeing a handcrafted piece begin its next chapter, knowing it will be enjoyed for generations instead of sitting in a warehouse or rolling off an assembly line.

The best part? Every piece that finds a home creates space for the next one.

Workshop Wednesday 🔨

It’s been a busy week in the shop.

After last week’s trip to the mill, JR has been turning those hand-selected boards into new custom projects—including the Bolivian rosewood charcuterie boards from this week’s Wood Type Monday. He’s also been making deliveries and wrapping up installations for
Customers.

Today’s project is this custom walnut dining table heading to its new home. Built from a stunning walnut slab with a solid walnut beam base, it’s finished with a custom ocean-inspired epoxy river that flows naturally through the center.

The video shows one of those moments most people never see—carefully taking the table apart, loading it up, and making sure it arrives safely for its next chapter.

And don’t worry... an empty spot on the showroom floor never stays empty for long. 👀 Stay tuned later this week to see what’s taking its place.

🌳 Wood Type Monday... Can You Guess This One? 👀

There was a time when furniture wasn’t just built—it was carefully crafted.
