We will list a minimum donation amount to acquire the item, and a receipt provided for taxes. Cash or Venmo accepted.

Thank you to these two young men for helping these veterans during the winter storm. Stand up gentlemen!

Last week, Nathan Schaefer with Chamberlin Contracting was alerted to a community Facebook post from DAV’s Voluntary Services director that a disabled veteran and his caregiver wife needed help clearing their driveway after a snow storm in northern Kentucky. Their driveway was plowed in, preventing their full-time home health care aid from getting to their house. The family had to cancel this critical care for two days.

Hearing this, Nathan called his boss, Jacob, and explained the situation. Although his company doesn’t typically do snow removal, without hesitation, Jacob immediately went over to the veteran’s house with a truck and cleared the driveway.

“We appreciate all our veterans,” said Nathan. “We said if that was one our family members, we’d do the same. We try to help the community in any way we can. That’s why we’re here.”
