Sometimes I buy vintage for the history.

Sometimes I buy it because it reminds me of someone.

And sometimes… I buy it simply because the color stops me in my tracks.

That was the case with these vintage National Airlines playing cards. I fell for that glorious 1970s orange first. Then I discovered the story behind them.

National Airlines flew from 1944 until 1980 and became known for its cheerful sunshine logo and memorable advertising campaign. It was a time when people dressed for the journey, cocktails were served in the sky, and air travel still felt glamorous.

What began as a love affair with color became a little lesson in history.

These won’t be making their way to Retro Love. Some vintage treasures are meant to be sold. Others quietly find their forever home the moment you pick them up.

This one is staying with me. ☀️✈️🧡
