Continuing my potholder obsession with a gift for my mailman, who ironically delivered a package of loops to the wrong address on Sat that we will have a discussion about today. These are very generously sized and quite thick. I even bought hand dyed loops to get the right teal color. Potholders are very trendy now, especially when updated with complex patterns. Marc Jacob's featured them in the front window of his New York bookstore this past week.

Have started working on dog breeds for our exclusive counting sets. Get 1 thru 10 counters as either part of a counting chain on a keyring or individually in a small carrying canister. Ten breeds designed, more to come along with their cat co-species (orange tabby first for my Doogie). Debuting at the NTX Yarn Crawl later this month. More counting sets added to the store this week. Realistic sheep and alpacas, dragons, bees, parrots and folkart birds. Coming next week are unicorns and I am starting to work on 30 dog and cat breeds. Comment if you would like to suggest a theme.

Some new play things. Each set contains numbers 1 thru 10, plus a right and wrong side and 25, 50, 75 and 100 markers. Can be used for row or stitch counts. 6 styles available: cats, dogs, sheep, alpaca, sunflowers & hummingbirds. More styles to come or recommend a theme. Each set comes in a screw top jar.

So many times, non-fiber people have mistaken our stitch markers for jewelry. Well now they are. Earrings come in two colors -antique bronze or antique silver. Get an assortment of 50 styles for $100 plus postage. Just specify how many of each color you want and let us select from 100 designs for you. I call these countertop candy as they are terrific impulse buys.

I keep a bowl of random Progress Keepers on the counter up front and it is one of the most popular areas of my store. People just love sorting through it. We sell a 100 piece assortment of .5 and .75 in markers for $40. I have seen other stores mount these on business cards and sell them individually for 3x wholesale. You can also tailor the assortment by specifying cats, dogs, sheep, knitting, etc.
