WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR FLOWERS?

It’s a question that we get asked nearly every Saturday at market, and it’s one I actually look forward to (muuuuch better than “do you pick these off the side of the road” 😑)

Because, the answer fills us with pride. We grow them all! Sometimes it breaks some brains 🤯

I get it.

I didn’t really stop to think about where flowers “came from” before I got into farming. They just…appeared.

Same with the food on our tables.

Same with so many other things in our lives that, because we’re not directly involved in their making, we don’t question.

(Side note: I still think electricity might be witchcraft)

From seed to armfuls, we love bringing you into the fold on a process you might not see otherwise.

We think it makes that market bouquet on your counter mean even more.

We think it’s worth sharing.

Made up of so many different parts, some bold, some soft, some a little unruly, that somehow make something more beautiful together.

Hand-crafted. No one else would put you together quite the same way.

Locally grown, raised by specific hands, shaped by whatever soil and sun and weather you got.

You sway with the seasons too. Different in July than in November.

You thrive with a little care. Someone who notices before you wilt.

Saturday morning farmers market people are BUILT DIFFERENT

We see you! You’re up before the heat. You’ve got your tote bag, your coffee, your preferred order of vendors to hit up.

You choose being part of your community, sustaining local farmers, bakers, and makers over the convenience of home.

Now we’re cookin’

The air is thick, and it doesn’t actually feel like June. It feels like a super hot April?

The ground is soggy and muddy, you can feel the heat radiating off of the plants.

There are literal clouds of mosquitoes (we’re not ok yall 🦟)

But the zinnias grow like 6 inches a week at least. The blooms are bigger than ever.

We stop mid harvest to show each other cool zinnias with speckling, or ones that are the size of our heads 😮

Did I mention it’s hot?

We’re sweaty, we eat our weight in popsicles. LiquidIV is in business because of us, I’m convinced.

But man, is it fun.

There’s a unique satisfaction that comes from sweating and hustling and cutting 2500 zinnias in a morning, then packaging them all up and sending them all out into the world.

This is our farm, and these flowers are for you 🌼

If you’re not fantasizing about napping on a bed of Paper Bird bouquets and Zinnia bunches, are you even a flower person??

But seriously the only thing keeping me from using these as a mattress is the fact that we grew them, cut them, bunched them….and I’m not trying to break them, ya know?

The rhythm of our weeks have returned to standard summertime form. Not the busiest time of the season sales wise (y’all stay vacationing apparently 😂 ) but one of the most prolific for our summer staples.

Now that it’s reallytrulysummer, it’s zinnias, sunflowers, marigolds, gomphrena, and celosia who will emerge as the STARS of the farm, and we love it.

Bouquets and Zinnias headed to Central Market locations tomorrow, and all the goods heading to the Rockwall and Denton farmers markets this Saturday!
