☀️ Summer changes more than the temperature around your humidor.

Empty space inside your humidor affects how quickly the internal air responds to temperature changes, door openings, and outside air exchange.

A nearly empty humidor is not automatically a problem. The key is understanding the balance between free air, moisture-buffering materials, temperature, and humidification.

This summer, focus on:
• Keeping the humidor properly sealed
• Avoiding direct sunlight and temperature swings
• Limiting unnecessary openings
• Monitoring temperature alongside relative humidity
• Watching recovery after normal access
• Checking the seal and humidification system before adding extra moisture

More empty space does not automatically mean you need more humidity.

The goal is a stable storage environment, not a constantly adjusted number.

Your wrapper does more than complete the appearance of your cigar.

Seasonal changes in temperature and relative humidity affect how to***co exchanges and redistributes moisture. The wrapper participates in that process, so its condition offers useful clues about how the outer to***co is responding to its storage environment.

A familiar hygrometer reading does not tell the entire story. Watch the trend, temperature, exposure history, and physical condition of the wrapper.

Practical takeaway: when seasonal conditions shift, avoid making aggressive humidity corrections based on a single reading. Keep the storage environment stable, monitor temperature and relative humidity, and give the to***co time to adjust. If the wrapper becomes unusually brittle, less flexible, cracked, or split, investigate the storage conditions rather than immediately making another large adjustment.

To be honest, it took a few attempts and ultimately I had to have help from their customer service department to set up the units wi-fi but once that was completed I was and am completely satisfied with the unit. When I purchased it I was unaware of its wi-fi capabilities so it was a bonus. This was a replacement for my original Cigar Oasis XL which operated flawlessly for over a decade. I love this thing. Well worth it.

Thunderstorm outside? Your humidor might not care as much as your weather app suggests.

A sudden jump in outdoor relative humidity does not automatically mean your storage environment has gained the same amount of moisture. Temperature changes, dew point, air conditioning, ventilation, and air leaks all influence what happens indoors.

The key is to watch the trend, not chase every hygrometer movement.
