It’s that time of the year already! Time to get all of my Mother Plants back into the greenhouse! They are going to love the environment for the next couple of months. For the next couple of months I’ll be cleaning them up and deciding which specimens will be coming into the sunroom this winter!
After looking at the forecast for this next week, I decided I’d get a jump on this project. The highs are definitely going to be changing along with the lows.

Look at these beautiful red bell peppers! I think I’m going to pick them tonight! The yellow ones and the green are ready as well! I have cucumbers coming out of my ears. I can’t seem to keep up with eating them all. The nice thing is though…….their shelf life in the fridge, being fresh from the garden is about 3 weeks. I’ve been putting my cherry tomatoes in the blender and turning them into tomato sauce because I definitely over planted them. lol. Everyday, a huge mixing bowl full! I’ve never tried them for sauce before, so this will be a little experiment. Harvest season is here and the pie pumpkins have been picked today and being used for fall decorations on the rock walls. Fun time of the year!

Here’s how that new garden that I planted 2” seedlings in on July 18th is doing. The first pick is August 11th, the last two pics are today! What a jungle! I’ve picked about a dozen or more cucumbers from this garden already! Tomatoes are 4 feet tall, cukes are at the top of the 5 ft fence. 😁

Have any of you noticed the change in your plants in pots since we’ve started getting some cloudy weather and cooler overnight lows? This summer has been extremely hot! There really hasn’t been any breaks in the heat. The pots that I have planted that are in the full sun have really had a tough time this season. Can you imagine how hot the roots have been in this heat in a confined pot? The roots have been literally boiling everyday. lol. Since the cooler overnight temps, I’m noticing a rejuvenation of these plants.
They are showing new growth at the crown as if it’s spring again. 😁

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! It looks like the big pumpkin on the top of the mound is about 100 pounds right now, and still growing! These Dill Atlantic Giants are really fun to watch grow! I haven’t grown these for about 20 years but this year I decided to have some fun! My peppers are going like gangbusters, glad I made a big batch of stuffing for the freezer because I’ll be using it shortly. 🫑😁. My dump pile that houses all of the plants that I throw away every year to recycle the soil, are growing like crazy! It’s looks to be a lot of tomato plants, one zucchini, a pumpkin, and a cucumber. lol. It will be interesting to see what becomes of these plants that were dumped and decided to grow anyways. 😂🤣

Wow! The zinnias are in their glory right now, as is the phlox! To be honest, everything is in high bloom zone right now! lol. I feel like I’m in heaven! So much beauty everywhere I look! The butterflies are everywhere, adding to the beauty! Someone pinch me! ❤️

Wow! It looks like we’re finally going to get some rain! The flowers are looking great because I’m spending way too much time keeping them watered, however, the grass is crunchy and pretty much dead. It’s going to be so nice to not have to water tomorrow! Yay! Everything needs a good drenching. All of the gardens are going to be so happy, as am I. Tomorrow looks to be a bit cooler as well, it will be nice working weather. I might actually be able to get into the greenhouses to get them cleaned up. They’ve been about 120-140 for the last month with these temps, so maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to start in on them. The last pic is of my pool area, which I’ve been spending a lot of time in this year due to the temps, but I don’t mind at all……..it’s so wonderful floating, being surrounded by these beautiful flowers. ❤️
