Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault at Kismet's Epiphany Metaphysical Shop in southern York County involving a 65-year-old man.

A couple of weeks ago we shared that an assault had taken place at our shop. At that time, we were unable to share more specific details to protect the integrity of the investigation. Since our post, WGAL and the Star Newspaper have shared information based on publicly available reports. Those details are below.

I want to thank everyone who left comments of support and reached out to offer help after we originally shared our concerns. The overwhelming support of the greater community outweighed the few unsupportive comments that some left. We will now let the wheels of the justice system turn at the upcoming trial in early August.

I’m very disgusted to make this post but today, a customer came in and assaulted one of our employees. The State Police quickly responded and with the help of several great community members in Fawn Grove, the suspect was arrested. Inappropriate conduct towards employees is unfortunately something that most small businesses deal with but are afraid to talk about.

Well I’m going to talk about it, because this type of crap should not be brushed under the rug!!! 😡
I’m going to say it LOUD….
Women deserve to be treated with respect, always. Their boundaries should not be violated. Their bodies should not be violated. And I am going to make it very clear that any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated in my store. Not only will you be asked to leave, but the police will be called, evidence will be provided, and charges will be filed. Offenders will be trespassed from the premises and if necessary, protective orders will be filed.

We have EIGHT CAMERAS in our shop that record every move. I never dreamed that these cameras would be used as evidence of an assault.

My heart is very heavy after what transpired today and what my employee had to go through. As a small business owner, it’s moments like these that I feel like giving up and closing. I’m not sure how much fight I have left in me. But this isn’t just a business- it’s a family and my employees are part of that family.

We are going to regroup and double down on protective measures for the safety and security of our employees. In the meantime, please keep our employee in your thoughts and send her positive vibes, prayers, and love.
