As you know, I try to keep the majority of my personal life off of here. But, this matter does concern the shop and random closing.
As most of you know I was in a car accident in March. I was rear ended at 45-50 MPH while I was at a red light. At the time, I did not realize how extensively my injuries were.
Fast forward and we are now in July. I have finally gotten in to see a spinal orthopedic doctor. I knew the news wouldn't be great, I've declined over the months, but I wasn't really prepared for how bad the injuries are. This doctor wants to help and find the root of my issues, though many are evident, and surgery is a BIG possibility. I plan to try any and everything before that.
I am in a lot of pain and a lot of you have noticed just from the way I was standing. I cannot lift too much, I cannot bend over too many times, I cannot sit for too long and I have lost some dexterity in my left hand and arm which we're working to narrow down the issue as to why.
With that, I will be having appointments and more appointments in the upcoming month possibility two. I have been slacking and I've very aware, my bank account is as well. But, I can only continue to push and push so far. I'm just hurting myself more. I've gotten "do not return to work" notes for my boss ;) every visit I've had. Unfortunately, life doesn't work like that.
I've had a crazy year. I haven't had the chance to put my full focus on my business and I've lost so much, but I'm pushing through! If you've called or came by and didn't get me, I apologize. Please send a message! Most days currently I sleep if I'm able.
Things will not stay this way. Bad times happen so we can cherish the good. 💛
For your viewing please, I've included some photos of the X-ray of my spine! Including novo curvature, in easy terms a brand new curve in my spine that's not true scoliosis! Bone spurs, bone on bone friction, degenerative disc disease, cervical spondylosis and Grade 1 spondylolisthesis in the lumbar. All this the doctor was able to gather without a MRI and just bone imaging . Who knows what the MRI will show. Some of this damage is old but most is new, including the CURVED SPINE 🦴
I say all this to say, I'm doing my best. It may seem like I'm never open, or I am ignoring you in some way but in reality I'm probably laying in bed crying.
I think of the majority of my customers as friends, and I felt the best way to inform y'all would be here. So, if you see me and my posture looks different or I'm standing differently, here's why.
