At Turner Lane, we always know when May has arrived downtown.

The sidewalks feel different.
There’s still a little spring chill in the morning air before the sunshine settles in. The brick and cobblestones glisten from rain showers or early dew. Prom couples start popping up for their photo ops. Date-nighters drift back outside again. People linger longer. Gather more. Window shop slower.

Downtown starts feeling soft again.

And somehow, Mother’s Day weekend always feels like the moment spring fully arrives.

Cupid’s Trail is coming to Downtown Fayetteville! 🏹❤️
Join Turner Lane on February 7th (11 AM–6 PM) for a free, self-guided scavenger hunt that’s perfect for partners, friends, and families.

How it works:

Start: Pick up a paper map at any participating business or use the online map version.

Play: Look for conversation hearts in downtown shop windows and write down the words you find.

Win: Find 14 hearts to earn an entry to win one of two Downtown Experience Gift Baskets. Every extra heart is an extra entry.

Submit: Drop off your completed map at a collection location.

Its a Window Wonderland Downtown, thanks to Lori Iverson. She has brought to our little alley downtown a extra bit of magic for the holiday season.

These Turner Lane elves are bright, joyful, and full of personality. They feel like they’ve stepped straight out of Elf Season and onto our windows, ready to welcome everyone who wanders by. There’s a spark in each one — a wink, a smile, a hint of mischief — and together they bring the warmth and sparkle we hope people feel when they visit Turner Lane.

What I love most is how her artwork adds to the little stories unfolding all across downtown — the way each window, mural, or moment becomes part of the season’s rhythm. Lori’s work is one of those beautiful threads running through the heart of downtown right now.

These windows are also part of a growing collection of Lori’s artwork across downtown. You can find her cheerful, colorful pieces at Charley's Pub, Gaston Brewing Company, Taste of West Africa: Awo's Cuisine, Prima Elements Holistic Wellness Center, and her own salon on Anderson Street and more locations I am sure that are coming soon. She’s adding beauty and joy to so many corners of downtown, and we’re grateful to be one of them.

If you’re downtown for the Christmas parade, holiday shopping, or simply wandering, pause for a moment and take them in. They really do make you smile.
