me and my creatures for brooke and russel’s dreamy texas wedding 👾sculptural, otherworldly floral beings made of lavender amaranthus and orchids for their ceremony altar.

there’s something really special about being trusted enough to bring the wild ideas in my head to life.

i loved the juxtaposition of this one against the architecture of the chapel. all of those strong, soaring lines against these soft, almost melting floral sculptures. structured and restrained, but delicate and a little surreal.

so grateful for stylish clients who give us the freedom to make art with flowers. 🙏

four years ago, we moved my floral studio from nyc to nwa, joined forces, and started building The Flowerslinger into what it is today.

four years ago, i don’t think i could have imagined what The Flowerslinger would become. i just knew i wanted to share my unique floral POV and build something with my husband that felt like ours. we both have a lifetime of experience from past lives that i new could be magical if combined.

since then, The Flowerslinger brand has taken us across the country, into rooms i never imagined we’d be in, working with incredible clients, planners, and brands, while making things that still sometimes make me think, wait, we get paid to do this?

but what i’m most proud of is that we’ve grown without watering ourselves down.

we’ve never been interested in doing what everyone else is doing.

we’ve always done things a little differently. we’ve trusted our instincts before they made sense to everyone else. we’ve never been afraid to pivot. we’ve pushed ideas, and we’ve questioned the way things have always been done, and we’ve watched some of those ideas eventually become trends.

thank you to every client, planner, brand, freelancer and business who has trusted us, championed us, given us room to create and believed in what we were building.

i’ll leave you with some OG Flowerslinger wisdom below, aka from brittany :)

make the things you wish existed. trust your taste, trust your instinct. be passionate, be bold, and keep chasing what sets you apart.

follow the ideas that won’t leave you alone. in a world that rewards sameness, having a point of view that is distinctly your own is everything. protect it. nurture it. never water it down just to fit in. oh and block the haters, give ‘em something to talk about. 😘

i’m incredibly proud of what doug and i have built together. and even more excited about where we’re going. 🚀

that insanely epic day where we had THREE major weddings on the same day across nwa because i loved all the couples so much i couldn’t say no. ( and none of them looked the same ⚔️🤘🙂‍↕️) and this is the one where we put moss mountains in Crystal Bridges for cary & andrew and a million tiny ikebana moments of oncidium orchids and forsythia branches with black parrot tulips. this is also the one where the grooms walked down the aisle to ABBA and they wore custom Leo Costelloe boutonnières with tiny fritillaries and then i met one of my favorite floral celebrities, Maurice of Maurice Harris and he was SO KIND. 🥹 yeah, april 25th really was a perfect date!

fluttering wired orchids on puffs of smokebush (a summer favorite) with moss and woven grasses intertwined on pieces of driftwood collected by the sweet bride, a little bit of her home state brought to bentonville.

Jessica Kersey brought a moody speakeasy vibe to a presidential suite at the The Compton for this intimate destination reception and we loved being a part of it! can’t wait to celebrate this couple in knoxville next year!

what is “slow season” anyway 🤷‍♀️ we never really seem to have one anymore, which is a very, very good problem to have.

i still remember our first year when we went an entire month without a single inquiry or sale and i genuinely wondered if we should pack it up.

now we’re pretty much nonstop until november (with a self-enforced break).

forever grateful, slightly tired, and probably somewhere covered in flowers. future 2027 clients, we’re booking all over the country so let’s make it happen! inquire on our site 😘

individually wired cymbidium orchid bloom bouquet for Madeleine Hill 💗 truly a labor of love but i’m obsessed with how fluttery and bouncy it turned out 😍

if i had to describe the feeling of this wedding i would say: breakfast at tiffany’s meets the french riviera, painted through the lens of monet. a design that truly made my heart flutter 🦋

we took Madeleine Hill ‘s watercolor illustration from her save the date and ran with it. Stephanie Benton dreamed up the full design and brought every layer together. from SBE’s iconic pattern mixing and powder blue lampshades to the pink glassware, the ruffled linens and all of those tiny details in between, everything felt so special and cohesive.

for the flowers, we looked to monet’s gardens for inspiration. we built a romantic, elevated palette of blush, soft green and the palest touches of blue. we designed lush moments of garden roses, peonies, delphinium, orchids and the most fragrant hyacinth sculptures with tiny dancing nerine lilies that floated above the tables. a dream!🩰🦢

the best kind of design is when every element feels like it belongs to the same story, and this one really did. it was romantic without feeling precious, playful, elevated and a little unexpected.

and when a client trusts their creative team, we get to push the ideas a little further, make unexpected choices and create something that feels completely their own.
