Whiskey cups are drying out and will be ready by Friday evening for the Misfit Market at Dirtbag Ales.

They will go for $20, or $23 if they have a pattern applied to them.

These are our first “shot” at making these and they may shrink a bit beyond what I’d hoped.

If that happens we will have a bit of a fire sale on them.

I need Alina to make some chopsticks for this tiny bowl I made.

We will share the results for all of these items later this week.

Well, we did it. It was either enroll in a masters program or, or upgrade our studio and take our small business a step further with a NEW KILN.

It was a pretty easy choice to make, actually. Having just finished my bachelor’s in mathematics at INDIANA UNIVERSITY last month and as happy as I am that I completed it, it took a lot of time away from the family (and dogs!!!).

So, we are choosing this path and hoping to do a lot more both in-person and online sales.

We are making whiskey cups and yarn bowls today.

If you ordered the two blue kraken mugs yesterday, they have been thrown.

This vase may or may not be for mom.

Thanks to everyone who made a purchase yesterday, or just stopped by to talk or complement our items.

Every bit of it means a lot.

131 items on the table today at Dirtbag Ales.

10 custom-made preorders, paid for and ready for pickup.

Out of the the remaining 121 items, only 1 is over $40, and that’s because it has a $15 Bromeliad from a store sitting in it.

Out of the other 120 items, only 7 are above $35, because they have oil nozzles sitting in them.

94.66% of our items are $35 or under.

Several more are $18 and under.

We love what we do, and we think you will, too.

Closer look at our load from today.

We will be at Dirtbag Ale tomorrow from 10-2 with a lot more than this.

How much more?

Well let’s just say as I type this post Alina is packing everything up as securely as she can, and she isn’t happy I’m not helping.

See you soon.

Photos of what came from the belly of the kiln today.

We have finally realized that we find ourselves in a choke point in our process. We create items faster than the kiln can get them fired, and we are in a constant battle of selecting which items to fire.

Well, no more of that. Today, we purchased a new kiln. We will go from 2.6 cubic feet to 9.9 cubic feet.

If you’ve been following along you’ll be delighted to know I’ve also ordered Grandma’s GREAT BIG ROLLING pin set (a slab roller).

I’m excited for summer to come, a break from teaching, and to continue to give myself a chance to stay at home with my pups for the foreseeable future.

4 custom orders here, do any of them belong to you?

We will post pictures of all of this stuff later.

Otherwise our next in person event is coming up at Dirtbag Farmers Market on the 31st of May, 10-2.

We will also attend the Misfit Market at Dirtbag Ales on the 12th of June.

These alien/space ship mugs are custom orders and Alina has gotten really good at applying the glaze combos just right for a “galaxy” effect. They take her quite a bit of time and I will eventually have to raise the price just a bit so I can pay her for her time.

Late night last night getting one last batch glazed and fired for Mother’s Day.

Some of these glazes are new and with only so much space in the kiln we will have a very limited quantity of some of them.

See you tomorrow at Dirtbag Farmers Market.

You know when your tea bag string just… disappears into your cup? 😅

That kept happening to Alina (she’s 100% a tea person), and honestly it was getting annoying. So we decided to fix it.

That little detail on the rim? It’s there to hold your tea bag in place so it doesn’t fall in while you’re drinking.

It’s such a small thing, but it makes a big difference.

This is something you’ll actually use every day, whether it’s tea or coffee.

And of course… still a reminder to “Be you” 💛
