How's everyone been? I'm doing much better!! Plan is to be back in the shop on March 1st. Hopefully this is the last of the health issues and shop being closed. There's a few instruments I'll be finishing up that were in the works when I got sick, so those will have to be finished before I take on new work. That being said, if you need anything, just give me a call anytime after March 1st for most repairs, mods, etc. For easy peasy items like setups, fretwork, etc., I can probably work you in before that. There isn't ANY type of stringed instrument (aside from pianos) that we don't cover. If you need it, we can do it. Need references, just ask. I've been doing this type of work since I started playing in the late 80's. I tinkered on my own instruments, then for friends. In about 2010, I started working out of our home and since 2013, the Guitar E.R. has been taking care of musicians all over. I've had customers from as far away as west as Arizona, NJ to the east, KY, etc. As well as from all over WV. I've done repairs for all 3 music stores that have been in existence since I started taking customers, 2 of them, I was their exclusive repairman. Not going to lie, yes, I have been known to get behind due to health issues, that's a fact! That's why I'm working on taking on/ training help do this will NO LONGER be an issue. I treat each and every instrument as if it's my own. I'm very picky and hard to please, vso ot has to suit me before I'll ask if it has your approval. From 2013 on 99.9% of my business has been repairs, but we're starting builds soon. I've always done them when needed (some repairs are worse than starting from scratch and building), but now we'll be concentrating on them more. We've recently acquired some very high profile customers, names to be released after completion of the builds. I'm very proud of that, but take the most pride in keeping those local instruments in top shape. Let's get those instruments set up do they're functioning as best that they can. Guaranteed you WILL notice a difference once Guitar E.R. has taken care of you!! So whether you need electrical, professional quality setups, body repairs, finish work, etc., we've got you covered. Most would rather have a cheap instruments with a setup done as an expensive instrument without one. Pricing available upon request. I prefer to give a fixed price instead of an estimate if at all possible, which is most of the time. Each and every repair is unique, so therefore so is the pricing at times, it all depends on the scope of the work needed. If an estimate does have to be given, I'll always be sure to do it as affordable as possible for you. We currently offer the full line of Hipshot Products Inc with more on the way. We'll be carrying some supplies such as strings, picks, etc. No upcharge on parts, you pay what we pay. All work is guaranteed. Of course some components like switches, pots, etc. can't be covered indefinitely, as they will eventually fail. If ever you have ANY issues with anything we've done, please contact us so we can take care of it. If it's been on my bench you're covered! In addition to references, we also have many before, during and after pictures of our work. 100% professional quality work backed by years of experience and associated with most of the top pro luthiers in the U.S. Of your not close and prefer not to travel (we also accept instruments shipped to us for work), contact me and I'll help you find someone in your are through our network of pro shop all over the country. Give us a call or text at (304) 880-3159 to discuss getting the best out of your instruments. Most, especially those new to playing, don't realize that almost every instrument (new or used) needs a setup. If I do it, you WILL notice a HUGE difference! Just ask long time customers Chuck Crow or Jamie Wolverton as well as many others. Those 2 have probably had me work on more instruments for them than I have my own! A professional setup covers many things. 1st off, we clean your instrument top to bottom. We'll check and adjust nuts and saddles (or make you a new one from quality bone. No pre-made nuts or store bought blanks. Each and every one is custom made by us starting with bone. Some of it sourced locally), clean and oil the fretboard (except maple or any that have a finish applied. Those are thoroughly cleaned.), frets checked (rarely if ever does a pro setup not include fretwork of some type, be it loose or unseated frets, loose frets or fret ends as well as high frets or uneven fretboards causing issues). We evaluate and adjust the truss rod (if applicable. If not, we use alternate methods to adjust necks). Action is set to suit you and your playing style. Electronics are checked and cleaned if needed and the frets are polished to a mirror shine. If any other issues are found (if it's on the bench, it gets a full inspection), I'll contact you to discuss it. No surprise charges or work done without you being made aware first and you approval. In years past, I sent instruments to "luthiers" for work. Only to be charged way too much and the quality of the work mediocre at best, sometimes not even doing what was asked. So I decided my customers would never have to worry about that. Looking forward to getting back at it. With us the work is done because we love to do it, it's a passion, as it is with most pros. Sure, we do have to charge, but always look forward to the work before the pay. I've repaired soo many "can't be fixed" instruments. Seeing the customer playing it again makes it worth it. Ask Jeff Turner about "Firewood" or maybe Jeff Lynch about his Ovation. He can attest to brand new, high quality, big name instruments needing a proper setup, fretwork, etc. The go to shop since 13, let us take care of your needs. Thanks again to each and every customer over the many years. We do offer special pricing for multiple instruments and repeat customers. Give us a call or text and see the difference, (304) 880-3159.
