9/11/2001….a day in America that many of us old enough to remember will never forget.
I remember driving to one of my facilities in Austell, Ga that day. No idea that anything had happened. At around 10:45 a.m I neared Hartsfield airport… I had noticed that I had not seen any airplanes flying low overhead, either landing or taking off, as I was used to seeing. Then, as I approached the airport I witnessed an unbelievable sight. Airplanes everywhere! All grounded. None moving. All just seemingly parked everywhere. There were so many airplanes grounded… it was surreal.
I had been driving with my cd’s playing, my trusty Nokia flip phone not on. I had no idea what had happened, but I knew something had!! I turned my phone on and called the facility and learned that the twin towers had fallen. All of us that day hovered around the TV, not believing what had happened.
It was the day our world changed!!
