We got to hatch 2 chicks from our chicken flock. Nugget lives with the flock with its mom, while Chance lives in the house in the laundry and loves the humans. Let's just say, that wasn't the original plan! But life gives us fun opportunities to raise baby chicks again!

Our chickens (21 hens and 1 accidental rooster) live in a mobile coop with a 100 ft electric netted fence around it. We move this coop every 3-5 days (depending on the weather and schedules) so they get fresh bugs and grass and leaves to eat and fresh areas of manure to spread out for us. You can already tell where they have been the past few months! We do have free food available at all times and they get "treats" (cracked corn, dried bugs, and grit) several times a day as well. As it warms up and they get bigger we will need to move them more often, but those incredible eggs sure are worth the work required!

Never gets old, gathering eggs from our hens! We got chicks in June, built an awesome mobile coop (it looks like a red barn!) by my super cool husband, and finally got our fist eggs November 11! They are currently laying enough for us to enjoy them daily! Again, just a part of the dream!

This may look like just a plate of food to you, but it represents years of dreaming and lots of work. This is a T-bone from a cow that was purchased at 8 months, raised on our farm (in Tennessee! ), grass-fed and grass finished, processed at 20 months. The veggies (squash and okra) were planted from seed here last spring, grown all summer, then frozen specifically to eat with this meal. The Cresent roll is from Pillsbury, because they are delicious and I was tired!

Just a reminder that dreams come true, but only because we relied on God to lead us and follow where He took us (ummm, we live in Finger.) I hope this encourages those of you in the dream stage!
