Some cookies are good.

Some cookies make you wonder, “Why does this taste so much better?” 🤎

The secret to our Brown Butter Snickerdoodles starts before the dough is even mixed.

The very first thing I do is slowly brown the butter, toasting the milk solids until they’re golden and fragrant. Those tiny toasted bits create a rich, buttery flavor with warm notes of caramel and roasted nuts that perfectly complements the classic cinnamon-sugar coating.

Then comes the part most people never think about…

That butter has to cool to just the right temperature before it’s creamed with the sugar. Too warm, and the cookies spread. Too cold, and they lose that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Getting it just right is what gives these snickerdoodles their light, chewy center and perfectly tender bite.

It’s one of those little details that takes extra time—but it’s exactly why homemade should taste different.

Every Cozy Crumb recipe has been tested, tweaked, and baked over and over for family, friends, and customers until it became something I’m truly proud to share. These Brown Butter Snickerdoodles are one of those recipes.

We’ve got a little schedule update for this week!

Instead of our usual Saturday at the Grand Forks Farmers Market, we’ll be spending the weekend baking and getting everything ready for Taste of Crookston during Ox Cart Days on Monday, August 10. We can’t wait to be part of such a fun community event!

She’s alive! 🎉🍪

The new oven is officially installed, tested, and baking beautiful cookies.

It feels so good to have the kitchen warm again and to be doing what I love. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement this week—I’m excited to be back! 🤎

Well… this isn’t the update we were hoping to share. 💛

After doing everything we could to keep it going, our oven officially called it quits. We’ve spent tonight mourning the loss of a very hardworking oven and making a last-minute run to find a replacement.

Unfortunately, that means we won’t be able to get everything baked in time for tomorrow’s Grand Forks Farmers Market.

We’re so sorry to everyone who was planning to stop by. We know many of you look forward to your Saturday cookie fix, and we hate missing a market.

The good news? A new oven is on the way, and we’ll be back in the kitchen as soon as we can. We can’t wait to fill the house with the smell of fresh cookies again.

Thank you for your understanding, your encouragement, and for supporting our little home bakery through the unexpected bumps along the way. We’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as we’re baking again.
