Linda is ready for our “knit my first sweater” class. Are you?!?

There is still time to sign up — class starts this Saturday.

We will be knitting the compass sweater by Claire Jackson Claire Jackson using a classic Raglan design. Linda is knitting hers with Kelbourne Woolen’s scout in Plum Heather.

If you have been wanting to knit yourself a sweater, but are not sure where to start, this is the class for you!

We're loving the fall weather right now and it's starting to feel even cozier at Flax & Fiber, and a little spooky . Come join us for an event or two this week!

Tuesday, 10/6: 2nd Session of My First Hat Class from 6-8pm

Wednesday, 10/7: Open Craft Time from 12-2pm and we're kicking off the new MAL theme for this month: "Sock-tober." Feel free to bring a sock that's been in time out or cast on a new one, from 6-8pm

Thursday, 10/8: No special plans, but we're open 11am-8pm, so stop on by!

Friday, 10/9: Open craft from 6-8pm

Saturday, 10/10: We've got the inaugural class for Knit My First Sweater where Linda will help you pick your yarn, understand the pattern and *gasp* start swatching! That's from 11-12:30pm, feel free to come a bit earlier if you need to get your yarn caked up, we open at 10am.

From 1-3pm Maddie will be there to support the studious behavior of the Patty Lyons' study group. She will definitely have her homework done, so we encourage you to be through chapter 4 or beyond.

Sunday, 10/11: 3 fiber filled opportunities today - from 10am-12pm we've got Sarah's socktastic class before the store officially opens, from 12-2pm we've got Kelly in store for crocheting a quick fall project and then from 2-4pm we've got our weekly spin-in. So that's knit, crochet, and spinning all in one day!

Ever wondered what happens when a sock machine gets involved? Come learn how to take a machine-knit sock tube and turn it into a finished pair of socks!

A few things to know:
💡 This is an intermediate class for knitters who have already knit socks. You'll need to be comfortable with knitting, purling, SSK, K2tog, and the Kitchener stitch.

🧶 You provide the yarn! Your ~400 yds sock yarn must be dropped off approximately by Friday, 10/16 at the shop so we can have your tube ready for class that Sunday.

📏 Tubes will be available in either 64 or 72 stitches, so you'll select your preferred size when you register. (link in bio!)

🌈 Want to make your socks extra fun? You can even use a contrasting yarn for your heels and toes.

Date: Sunday, October 18 from 12-2pm
Yarn Drop Off Time: Friday, October 16 by 12pm
Instructor: JoAnn
Cost: $55 if using sock yarn from your stash. Automatic discount applied to class fee if you combine with a purchase of sock yarn from us!
