Today I’m working on picking Mohair. I am getting ready for my next live sale at the end of next week, and I’ve been dyeing up lots of Mohair locks. I am carefully going through the sets I dyed and picking out VM and seconds. It’s relaxing and daunting at the same time, but it ensures you receive a product that is perfectly ready for you! ☺️

💖Studio expansion update! 💖

The water lines have been plumbed (is that the right word? 😂) for the sink, as well as the pump. Since I will be below ground the sink needs a pump to shoot the waste water up to the main line for disposal. We just need to connect the lines and pipes, that should happen later this week. One thing I’ve learned is that fortunately, you don’t need to be fancy in a studio… just functional. Because art is messy!

My husband is also creating a much larger drying rack for my comb tops. He is glueing the PVC pipes together and will create a trap underneath to collect waste water and have it flow directly to the pump. This will be a big time saver for me since I’m currently collecting large buckets of water in a closet and pouring the water into a sink.

I am so stinking excited to share with you all my newest gradient set! 💖

This is “Stormglass”.

I’ve had in my head for the longest time a subtlety shifting gradient set that explores sea-glass greens fading into stormy ocean waters. And of course it has to be the largest size I offer, at 10 ounces.

I’ve spent a lot of time (and wool!) getting Stormglass to look just the way I imagined, so to share her with you in all of her glory is magical. I hope she inspires you to get to your wheel and spin something fabulous! 💕

Well I am officially moving.

But don’t worry, I’m actually not leaving my house. 😂

I have outgrown my laundry room that I converted into my dye studio, which I will say is quite impressive because I am dyeing about 5 pounds of fiber a day and can barely keep up.

Thanks to Midwest living, my basement is huge. I am converting my unfinished area into a larger dye studio, with steam tables and a commercial warmer which will dramatically increase my production.

First step is the electric. That was completed this weekend. Next will be the plumbing, hopefully later this week.

I’ll be excited to share with you guys the progress. What started as two tiny crockpots on the floor has become bigger than I ever could have imagined! 💖

Born from my recent Limited Lab Series, I wanted a colorway that was reminiscent of tundra landscapes and ice crystals. I have “Left On Read” available now on all my bases, as well as the Limited Lab Series which I dyed on Merino and Tussah Silk. 💖
