This is the ni****ne misunderstanding from another direction.
Imagine removing most of the ni****ne from a cigarette.
You haven't removed carbon monoxide.
You haven't removed the carcinogens created when to***co burns.
You haven't removed the thousands of chemicals in cigarette smoke.
You've primarily reduced the substance driving addiction.
FDA itself draws this distinction. It says ni****ne keeps people using to***co products, while the toxic chemical mixture in to***co and to***co smoke causes the serious health effects. FDA also identifies combustible products as the most harmful category of to***co products.
That's why the statement:
"Ni****ne is the dangerous part"
is incomplete.
Ni****ne helps keep the smoker returning to the fire.
The fire creates much of the danger.
