I haven’t had much time for quilting this summer so am excited to finish a quilt.
I’ve been thinking of our beautiful summer nights and designed a quilt with that in mind. I used deep dark blue’s with a central polygon in each quilt square that brings to mind the glow of a full moon. I’ve been telling my grandson that I’d stay up late with him and show him the Big Dipper and must have had that on my mind while I quilted, you can see the Big Dipper quilted into each square.

Creating a high contrast quilt can be tricky, I needed to highlight the bold pattern without losing its strength so balanced it with a lovely warm cream floral pattern square, it turned into a stylish lap size quilt that adds style to any decor.

Piecing together a new quilt, I found the perfect periwinkle color to combine with the bold red to tone down the color. I added the center yellow to complement the Little Prince’s hair. It took a long search to find the perfect backing!

Finished framing a couple more paintings and sent them off to their new home! 😁
