Hello Loves!
Well Rick has started his cardio rehab and it is going well.
He has attended two sessions so far and is working very hard. His 6 month mark is January 30th, 2027. That’s the day the doctors set for his full recovery. The Village Baker’s 31st anniversary is
January 20th, 2027. We are in the works to figure out our next steps. After this long we do not foresee nor desire the bakery going away. We are holding on so stay tuned.
Additionally, Beth’s father (Bob) who many of you would remember in the front office passed away over Mother’s Day weekend. So there has been a great deal of challenges this summer. There are no words to express our appreciation for all of your support. Every penny has gone into Village Baker rent and expenses to keep the location secure during this time. We are doing our best!

There are no words of how blessed we feel and have endless appreciation. We did not think
we’d ever be in the position to ask for help like this.
THE BAKERY UPDATE: we are trying to stay current so The 30 year old Village Baker lives on. Right now we have a past bill for Shamrock Foods for $700.04. A “local” multi billion dollar company.
And we have our rent to Vestar for $7,000. Another billion dollar company but not local.
THE RICK UPDATE: The doctors continue to be pleased with his recovery. His vitals are consistent and he is healing. It’s a slow timeline and of course he’s not used to sitting around, but progress is being made and we are hopeful.
They say it’s a 6 month full recovery so that puts us at January 30th. We are hoping to have the bakery doors open before then with some creative ideas.

The doctors are very pleased with Rick’s progress! He is right on track with his long recovery. Those who know Rick, even slightly, know he’s not a sit around kind of person, so every healing milestone is exciting for our family. We are hoping to have the bakery doors open sooner than later and are additionally hopeful the finances continue to maintain until we are baking again. It’s so odd to have even a few months of no bread after 30 years. Loving thanks to everyone supports during this time.

UPDATE: As many know, our husband, father and Village Baker, Rick, suffered a heart attack and underwent bypass surgery. Rick’s recovery is a long one which limits our knowledge of the future. However his progress is very positive. After 30+ years as The Village Baker we are hoping to be baking again in whatever capacity we are able.
Our family is forever grateful for the Flagstaff and beyond love and support. Thank you!
