Again, lack of training… simple motions. Repetition. This is a safety issue now that the deputy has to divert his attention to perform a simple motion. His safety and the safety of everyone orotund him. Bottom line is that reholstering is just as important to the draw.

Training is obviously present. Perfect practice makes perfect. Others will criticize, but it comes down to reaction time, speed, training, and commitment. The Officer had already committed to his action, effectively closed the space and took advantage of it. Not to mention the use of a good joint lock at the end positioning the suspect for quick handcuffing.
