A place, much like a person, is limited by its beliefs about itself. An expectation is held by the collective, dictating the highest highs achievable and the lowest lows allowable. And Flemington, I believe, is about to blow through the clouds.

I have heard the stories about the heyday of Flemington Borough. I have heard the stories about the Union Hotel and Flemington Furs and Cut Glass and Turntable Junction and Liberty Village and the buses and the throngs of happy tourists and the proud residents and workers and I always believed it even though I never saw it.

I think we’re well within striking distance of bringing that glory back to our devilishly cute, awesomely walkable and culturally significant little town.

Sure, it’s got a lot to do with a big new development but it also has a lot to do with the people who believed in those highest of highs for decades, never letting anyone sway them.

AND it’s got a lot to do with people like you who see the twinkling little lights of possibility around the small things along the way, gathering them up iike a squirrel collecting nuts, certain that there are brighter days ahead.

We all work together to drive traffic to our beloved Main Street in Flemington, New Jersey. Local businesses and local makers will be set up outside for a sidewalk sale under the sun.

Free street parking and parking behind the businesses off Main Street.
