Well, hello Lemon. 🍋🐾🦁

If you’ve spent any time around Flemington, you may have spotted our friend Gus walking one of his greyhound fosters around town. We LOVE seeing them - and apparently Lemon decided to stop by The Happy Peacock and make a new friend. 😂

Lemon is a 3-year-old greyhound/whippet mix who arrived from China earlier this month and is currently being fostered through Greyhound Friends of NJ. And yes… this handsome boy is looking for his forever home. 💛

Huge thanks to Gus for fostering these beautiful dogs - and for sharing what may be one of our favorite Peacock photos ever.

Because seriously… the lion. The ADOPT ME vest. And that bag perfectly positioned in the background. 😂

Apparently we’re running a zoo now. 🤷‍♀️🦚

We started with cute little plushies.

Then things… escalated.

There’s a lion on the floor, a giraffe watching the register, a cow who looks entirely too comfortable and snakes hanging around like they pay rent. 🦅🦁🦒🐐🐮🐍

And we wouldn’t have it any other way. 😂

The BIG plushies have officially landed.

If small businesses had a Super Bowl… this might be ours.🦚🌽🍅🍺

You plan. You prep. You strategize. You haul a ridiculous amount of stuff outside. 😂 And then you cross your fingers and hope the community shows up.

And Flemington, you SHOWED UP. ❤️

One of the best parts of the day was meeting so many new faces - especially the people who stopped and said, “Wait… I didn’t know you were here!” And just as special? Seeing so many familiar faces come back to shop with us again. There’s something pretty damn cool about being someone’s new discovery AND one of their favorite stops. 🦚❤️

We’re into our fourth year on Main Street, and days like this remind us why we love doing what we do. Whether you were discovering The Happy Peacock for the first time or coming back to see what weird, wonderful and completely unnecessary things we’ve added since your last visit 😂, getting to connect with all of you is the good stuff.

The Corn, Tomato & B**r Festival was an incredible reminder of what happens when a community comes together around its downtown and its small businesses.

A HUGE thank you to the Flemington Improvement District, Executive Director Ally Norton, the FID Board, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who made this day happen. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Flemington, New Jersey Corn, Tomato & B**r Fest of Flemington

And to everyone who wandered Main Street, shopped small, discovered a new business, returned to an old favorite, or simply stopped to say hello - thank you.
