Another one out the door! 🔥

This magnetic leatherette koozie was made for Redfern Farms Cattle Co., and I really like how their logo came out on the walnut leatherette. Clean, simple, and that black engraving pops.

A big thank you to Anna for reaching out and trusting Delta Kilo with the order. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I always appreciate when someone gives a small business like mine the opportunity to make something for their business.

So apparently I’ve reached the stage of small-business ownership where I looked at myself and thought…

“You know what people need? Delta Kilo merch.”

Is that confidence? Delusion? An unchecked ego? We’ll let history decide.

Either way, Delta Kilo Engraving merch is officially live on Etsy.

I’ve added some shirts and other gear for anyone who wants to rep Delta Kilo or just wants to support a small veteran-owned business run by a guy who spends an unreasonable amount of time with lasers and 3D printers.

And seriously, every order means a lot. When you support Delta Kilo, you're supporting a small business that started with me making stuff in the shop for the annual crawfish boil and somehow turned into people actually paying me to do it.

So if you see something you like, grab one. If you don't need anything, a share, like, or sending the shop to somebody who might helps more than you'd think.

This is probably my favorite type of product to make, and it really has nothing to do with the printing.

Almost every time I make a challenge coin display, I end up getting a story about the coins that are going to fill it.

This America 250 display is headed to the commander of an American Legion post in Staten Island, NY. He told me he was involved with planning for the 250th celebration in NYC and had the opportunity to be aboard the USS Nimitz and USS Arlington to watch the ships and aircraft come in.

Throughout the week, he collected challenge coins from ship crews, Admirals and others involved in the celebration. His post also hosted a barbecue for 85 sailors while they were in town.

He told me he came across my America 250 display and thought it was the perfect way to display the coins he'd collected from that week.

That's the part I enjoy.

I make a lot of things at Delta Kilo Engraving, but these displays almost always come with a story. The coins aren't just something somebody collected, they usually represent a place, a person, an event or a memory worth hanging onto.

Pretty damn cool knowing something I made down here in Florida is headed to Staten Island to hold a small piece of America's 250th celebration.

Glad I could make this one for him. 🇺🇸

Sometimes a customer pushes you outside your comfort zone... and you're glad they did.

A customer from Kentucky reached out after starting his new venture with a simple request: come up with a design that encompasses Kentucky, Cattle and my last name.

After bouncing ideas back and forth, we landed on a design we both liked.

Then he threw me another curve-ball. Instead of my usual Richardson 112s, he wanted a premium 7-panel performance hat.

I'd never pressed this style before but agreed to get him what he wanted.

Once the hats came in, the more I handled it, the more impressed I became. The fit, the quality, and the overall feel are a noticeable step up. Since it's a performance dry-fit hat, I paired it with a custom silicone patch instead of leatherette. The finished hats cost a bit more, but the finished product absolutely justifies it.

After finishing his order, I liked the hats so much...
..I made one for myself.

It also gave me the chance to add something new I've been wanting to offer - a small American flag patch on the side.

Helping people turn an idea into something they can hold in their hands is one of my favorite parts of this business. If you've got a vision for your business, your team, or your brand, let's work together and make it a reality.

Not every project goes according to plan... and sometimes that's where good ideas come from.

This Pokémon binder started out as a mistake.

After the first engraving pass, I thought it could use just a little more contrast. Unfortunately, I forgot to account for the material, and the second pass cut right through the surface. So I used the back as a testing surface to get settings dialed in.

At that point I figured it was headed for the trash.

Then my daughter asked, "Can I have it to give to a friend?"

I told her, "Not looking like that."

So we sat down together and started brainstorming.

Instead of trying to hide the mistake, we turned it into something unique.

The damaged area became the perfect spot for a personalized design on red carbon fiber, and the small test engraving on the back became its own personalized message.

What was almost scrap turned into a one-of-a-kind gift that someone might actually enjoy.

Props to my daughter for here thoughtfulness and creativity.

When someone comes back for more, that's about the best compliment a small business can get.

A longtime friend asked me to make a couple of custom hats for his new racing venture, SPARE PARTS.

After seeing how they turned out, he came back and ordered 10 more.

As a small thank you for trusting me with the project, I threw in a custom engraved tumbler to go with the order.

I appreciate every opportunity to help people represent their brand whether it's one hat or a dozen.

When I handed over the $6,000 donation we raised at this year's Crawfish Boil- I also gave the Chapter President this custom Purple Heart coin display. He wasn't expecting it, and he certainly didn't ask for it. I just figured a guy involved with the Military Order of the Purple Heart probably has plenty of challenge coins and could use another place to display them. This was just a small way to say thank you for the work he does supporting veterans and Purple Heart recipients.

I think it turned out pretty good.
