I grew up reading Ms. Magazine after my mom or one of my aunts had finished with it. I probably didn’t understand half of what I was reading at the time, but somewhere along the way, those ideas stuck. Strong, independent, gifted women with stories to share.

Nanabird is certainly not changing the world. 😂 I’m buying old dishes, glassware, artwork and whatever else catches my eye, and then finding new homes for it all.

But there’s something pretty wonderful about building something that belongs to you. Something that reflects your taste, your curiosity, your passion, and all the weird little things that make you … you.

So this is a little appreciation post for the women who came before us and pushed the doors open a little wider. And for all of us still figuring out what to do with the space they gave us. ❤️

And a very special thank you to Thirteen79 Design Services Emily Price, for opening Motley Home and taking a chance on me.

And to Recycled Soul Creations Dawn Bringer, for building upon that vision and supporting the women-owned small businesses that are part of our collective.

Maybe this little vintage business is just one small thing. But I’m pretty grateful for the women who made it a little easier for me to build it. ❤️

Are you ready for the weekend?? Get out of the heat and browse booth C4 while enjoying that nice crisp air conditioning, and listen to classic oldies on the radio. With nearly 200 vendors and over 20,000 square feet of vintage, antiques, primitive, sports memorabilia, clothing, and collectibles…. There’s a little for everyone to find at Route 27 Antique Mall in Alexandria, Ky. Open until 8pm daily!

We’ve restocked Motley Home with even more shirts and accessories! Local distillery, brewery, band tshirts, and more. Vintage Ralph Lauren and Polo. Flannels (c’mon fall!) and hoodies. Vintage leather belts, wallets, and bags. So many silk ties!! And check out the boots. We’ll see you in Burlington Wednesday when Motley Home opens. Stop in soon!

I’m in need of all of your help! When we did the yard sale, a lady named Lyna (hopefully it’s spelled correctly) bought her daughter an antique bed frame but never came back to pick it up!
I’m still holding it hoping she shows up to pick it up. Her name is not super common so, what I’m asking you all to do is, if you know a Lyna, please ask her about this and let her know I’m holding it for her!!

Did you know that Route 27 Antique Mall is open until 8 PM seven days a week? That’s right! Monday through Saturday 10-8, Sunday 11-8. With 22,000 square feet to browse, you’ll always find something amazing. We have been busy adding new finds to booth C4! Last night they were kind enough to host vendors night! The wonderful staff stayed late to allow us to straighten up and restock (and shop!) so we can bring you all the best finds. Thank you so much Patricia and Shawn, and the dedicated staff at Route 27 Antique Mall for all that you do. 🥰

Before I knew Tim Curry as the iconic Frank N Furter (which I honestly didn’t see until college!), I knew him as the Lord of Darkness in Legend, the quick witted butler Wadsworth, IT who gave me nightmares, and the scheming Rooster in Annie. With so many amazing characters Tim Curry played, which one was your favorite?
