Today was Harrisville Day! For those that don't know, it is a yearly festival sponsored by the Harrisville Economic Council. They are headed up by Sabrina Jennings and a host of volunteers. She has built this festival into a well oiled machine. We had such a great turn out. If you missed it, we had:
✅️ Pet Parade
✅️ 50 Vendors
✅️ Car Show
✅️ Softball Tournament
✅️ Live Music
✅️ Corn Hole Tournament
✅️ Puppet Show
✅️ The Price is Right
✅️ Water Balloon Fight
✅️ inflatables
And so much more!
It's such a great place to live. There aren't a lot of places like this anymore. Area churches work together for the greater good. All races and creeds come together to enjoy each other. Citizens support local businesses.
I moved to Harrisville when I married my husband John. January makes 7 years. I didn't think I would sell much ...maybe open an Etsy shop. Practically from day 1, I have been busy. We made it through Covid and some other bumps along the way. But the support I have received here has blessed me in so many ways. People that were customers became friends.
I now employ Suzanne Seaney Mulligan (my greatest asset) and Gracie Mulligan is my new part time assistant. These ladies create an atmosphere that fosters creativity, synergy, family connection, and give me so much more. One is my right hand and one is my left. They keep me sane and productive.
My husband John Walton is my core supporter. He took an old pole barn and built a flower shop. He makes wooden easels, crosses, and anything else I need. He believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself anymore. John has spearheaded and streamlined the delivery process for our Grave Keeper Program. We service 48 cemeteries and he makes everyone of them in 4 days, every 3 months. Right now we are getting a 40 foot shipping container. He is setting the foundation for it....this week. He loves me completely and I am nothing without him.
When you see the name Legacy Floral Studio, I hope you see not just me, but those who have been with me in the past, and those who currently work at Legacy. Even more than that, I hope you see and feel the hand of God in everything we do. In this business you see your customers in celebrations and heartache. I believe, without a doubt, that I am where I am supposed to be and doing what God ordained me to do. It's a gift straight from God and I try to honor him in my work.
I captured a few snapshots from today. Harrisville, Mississippi is small town USA 🇺🇸 It embodies the best of this nation. I am proud I get to live here.
Much love,
Linda Largent Walton
