Welcome to my knife store here in western Montana. There is no better place to be inspired than in the land of tall mountains and cold rivers.
I made all the knives you see pictured, from forging the steel to sewing the leather for the sheathes.
I prefer to use natural materials for the handles such as wood or antler.
I don't use patterns so each knife is an individual piece.
The steel for the blades are what you may call "green"- It's all recycled from metal such as car springs, chain saw chain, cable, saw blades and banding steel. They are all good steel for blades and when some are mixed together to form a Damascus blade, the patterns are amazing.
The blades are all differentually heat treated- meaning the cutting edge is hard and the back is softer, so if you're prying with it , the cutting edge may crack but the back will only bend so you will still have a servicable tool.
All knives come with a hand sewn, wet formed, and waterproof heavy leather sheath.
