💜 Optical Fact: Hackmanite Changes Color

Hackmanite is a variety of sodalite that can temporarily deepen or change color after exposure to ultraviolet light. This reversible color change is called tenebrescence; the color gradually fades and can be activated again.

📺 Optical Fact: Ulexite—Nature’s TV Stone

Another Optical Effect!

Ulexite contains bundles of thin, parallel fibers that guide light through the mineral by internal reflection—much like manufactured fiber optics. When properly cut and polished, it can project an image from underneath the stone onto its upper surface!
