I started book collecting in the early 1970s, and became hooked on my hobby very quickly. In my early years I would purchase books from some of the top dealers in the American book trade, many of who, were just starting out at that time. These would include Michael Ginsberg, William Reese, Willis Monie, and John Jenkins. Along the way I sold books from time to time, and was mentored by Nicolai Pav

lov, a wonderful man who taught me much about books and business. Around 1999 I started to sell books officially on a part time basis, and in 2008 I was fortunate to become a member of the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America). A year later I became a full time book dealer. Despite some very good advice from my friend Nick Pavlov, I seemed to have had a hard time staying focused on one area. Consequently, I’m one of those folks that know a little about a number of areas, but hardly an expert on a particular niche in the field. My interests include early American History, African American history, boxing, geography, natural history, science and medicine and travel and exploration. I have an extensive inventory of books, pamphlets, maps and documents in these areas.

A brilliant man who was a true visionary!

Over the past few years my rare book business has evolved into more of a retail business. For many years most of my sales were to institutions, historical societies and other book dealers. Now, individual collectors account for the lion share of my sales. Not totally sure of all the reasons for this change, but it's nice to know that book collecting is still alive and well.

SUMMER APOCALYPSE SALE

Amazon sales have been pretty decent over the past couple of years, but to boost circulation I have dropped the eBook price to $3.99, and the paperback version to $7.99 for the summer. Great summer reading, and if you’re trying to find a great post-apocalyptic film, this easy-to-read work will make that selection process easier. 100 years’ worth of films and TV programs covered. From the sublime to the ridicules this book covers a lot of ground. You can choose from nuke movies, viruses, EMPs, rogue meteors, climate change and those loveable zombie flicks we've been watching for over 50 years. Seeking The End: Post-Apocalyptic Films 1916-2016 offers both commentary and ratings on almost 120 films and programs.

Father’s Day Apocalypse Sale!
Want to see how people survive pandemics, rogue meteors, alien invasions, EMPs, zombies, nuclear wars, bio-weapon attacks and mutated insects in the movies, then check out my book Seeking The End: Post-Apocalyptic Films 1916-2016. Now there are of course plenty of these movies out there, but always a good idea to be selective. You don’t want to spend time watching Robot Monster, The Last Woman On Earth, or Waterworld, when you could be viewing The Time Machine, Dawn of The Dead, or When Worlds Collide. So why not check out my book on the subject for the good and not so good films in this genre. An easy read, with humor, and a view of my personal journey with these films. I cover almost 120 movies and TV shows, including some very rare and unusual films. Not surprisingly, many virus and bioweapon films are included. Available on Amazon. The eBook is now $3.99 and paperback $7.99. You can even read a chapter or two free on Amazon and see some reviews.
