It’s a beautiful Friday, and we’re ready for you! ☀️🧵
The rain has finally moved out, the weekend is almost here, and this is the perfect time to clean out that sewing room or fabric stash you’ve been meaning to tackle.
We’re especially looking for cotton fabric donations right now—prints, solids, quilting cotton, novelty fabrics, holiday fabrics, and more.
Our team is here, the shop is ready, and we’re excited to see what comes through the door. Bring us the fabric you’re ready to pass along, and we’ll help get it back into the hands of someone who can use it.
Come see us today—we’re here until 8 PM!
Saturday 10 AM–6 PM
We can’t wait to see you. ❤️🧵

It takes all kinds of people to build a strong community, and we need you. 💙

These two volunteers are proof that there is no “right age” to make a difference at STL Sewing Exchange.

We need volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels. We need women and men. We need people who enjoy working with children, teens, adults, and people with disabilities. We need people who love sewing—and people who don’t sew at all.

There are so many different jobs involved in keeping our community sewing room open. You might greet customers, fold fabric, organize supplies, assist with a class, help with special events, take photographs, work behind the scenes, or simply lend a hand wherever it is needed.
You may be thinking, “I don’t know what I could do.”

Think again. There is a place for you here.

The more volunteers we have, the more people we can serve, the more programs we can offer, and the stronger our sewing community becomes.

Come be part of what we are building. Complete our new volunteer form here:

Stitch for a Cause 🧵❤️

Join Joanne Cuddleback for Charity Sewing at STL Sewing Exchange on Thursday, August 13, from 1:00–4:00 p.m.

This month, we’ll be sewing adorable Barbie doll dresses for Santa’s Helpers, helping bring extra joy to children during the holiday season.

Joanne will provide step-by-step instruction and demonstrations for this simple project. Participants should have basic sewing experience, but you do not need to be an expert.

Come for the entire afternoon or stay for whatever amount of time your schedule allows. This is a wonderful opportunity to use your sewing skills for a meaningful cause, meet other sewing enthusiasts, and help someone in need.

Meet Marion McNeil! 🧵

Marion is our Director of Operations and Advisor, a member of the STL Sewing Exchange Board of Directors, and one of our trusted keyholders and day leads.

If you visit us on a Tuesday or Thursday, there’s a good chance you’ll see Marion welcoming customers, supporting our volunteers and vendors, answering questions, and helping keep the shop running smoothly.

She also deserves much of the credit for the folding and color-organizing system used on our fabric shelves. Those beautiful rows of fabric don’t happen by accident! Marion has spent countless hours sorting, folding, organizing, and helping make the shop easier for everyone to enjoy.
Marion is also the creative talent behind Grapevine Dzines She handcrafts the beautiful jewelry and accessories displayed at STL Sewing Exchange. Be sure to stop and take a closer look the next time you visit!

Beginning Tuesday, August 11, Marion will lead a weekly Bible study from 10:00–11:15 a.m. at STL Sewing Exchange. Everyone is welcome to attend. Our community is about more than sewing—it is also about building relationships, creating connections, and making room for fellowship.

Marion has believed in STL Sewing Exchange from the beginning. Her wisdom, creativity, steady leadership, and willingness to serve wherever she is needed have helped shape the community we are building.

We are so grateful to have her on our team. Please help us show Marion some love! 💙
