💜 Meet the Owner 💚
Hi everyone! My name is Darrlyn Bell, but most people know me as Dee. I'm the proud owner of Calming Corner Respite Care.
A parent recently asked why they didn't see my credentials on my business page, and I realized I never took the time to properly introduce myself.
For over 10 years, I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults with dual diagnoses, and the geriatric population in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Caring for others has always been more than a career it's my passion.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Applied Behavioral Science from Fontbonne University and a Master’s in Special Education with specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Webster University.
My professional journey includes working as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) before becoming a Provisionally Licensed Behavior Analyst (PLBA). I currently work in early intervention as a Behavior Analyst, providing services in-home and out in the community to help children and families reach meaningful goals. In the coming months, I'll be sitting for my Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam, and I'm excited to continue growing so I can better serve the families in our community.
I've also worked as a Foster Care Case Manager and a Licensing Worker, experiences that have given me a deeper understanding of the many challenges families may face.
Education is very important to me. This spring, I'll begin pursuing my second Master’s degree. Master of Social Work (MSW) at Missouri Baptist University, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) so I can continue expanding the ways I support children and families.
For families who like to verify credentials, you're more than welcome to Google my name, Darrlyn Bell. I have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), and my professional credentials are publicly available. My professional license will also be displayed at Calming Corner. I am CPR and AED certified, maintain a clear background check, and am committed to providing a safe, trustworthy environment for every child in our care.
As we get started, it will just be me caring for the children. Because I believe in providing quality, individualized care, I'm intentionally limiting each session to no more than five children while I learn the flow of the program and ensure every child receives the attention they deserve.
As Calming Corner grows, I plan to bring on two or more Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) whom I've had the pleasure of supervising and working closely with. My goal is to build a team that shares the same compassion, patience, and commitment to providing exceptional care.
Calming Corner was created from my heart. My mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space where children can thrive and families feel supported. Thank you for trusting me, supporting my dream, and allowing me to be a part of your family's journey.
I can't wait to welcome you to Calming Corner! 💜💚
