🐟 Chinese Hi Fin Shark 🐟
Don’t let the name fool you—this amazing fish isn’t a true shark! The Chinese Hi Fin Shark (Myxocyprinus asiaticus) is a peaceful freshwater species native to the Yangtze River in China.

✨ Interesting Facts:
• Famous for its tall, sail-like dorsal fin, especially as a juvenile.
• Young fish have striking black-and-white bands with orange accents that fade as they mature.
• Can grow up to 3 feet (90 cm), making it suitable only for very large aquariums or ponds.
• Prefers cool, clean, well-oxygenated water with strong water flow.
• Peaceful and compatible with other large, non-aggressive fish.
• Omnivorous—enjoys algae, sinking pellets, vegetables, and small invertebrates.
• With proper care, they can live 20–25 years.

I had the opportunity to visit House Aquarium in Rowland Heights and learn from Tony, whose passion, knowledge, and dedication to the aquarium hobby are truly inspiring.

As the owner of Empire Pet Fish, I believe there’s always something new to learn. Visiting other fish stores, exchanging ideas, and seeing different approaches helps me bring better fish, better service, and new experiences back to my customers.
