We are delighted to welcome Karen Entzi to the faculty of Wild Roots Fine Arts Academy! With more than 28 years of teaching experience and an impressive career performing with orchestras throughout the Southeast, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge, encouragement, and passion to every lesson. She offers private instruction on violin, viola, piano, and music theory for students ages 9 through adult. Whether you're just beginning your musical journey or looking to continue developing your skills, Karen is committed to helping each student build confidence, strong musical foundations, and a lifelong love of music. We think “Strings Day” at our Music Camp 2026: Instrument Petting Zoo was a success. Would you agree? Our campers are having a wonderful time trying out lots of instruments this week.

We are less than 2 weeks away from the start of our summer music camp. If you’d like to learn about a bunch of different instruments and actually be able to play them as well, this camp is a perfect fit.

We had a great turnout for the Storytelling Event, with professional storytellers John Fowler, Lance Smith, and Doug Elliott, held this past Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Forest City, NC. We also had a few open-mic tellers. It was sponsored by the Tree of Life Cultural Foundation non-profit.

We hope to continue to offer this and other cultural activities throughout the year. Please check out our website from time to time to see what we have coming up next. Thank you to Lance Smith for spearheading and organizing this event, and to the members of First Pres for hosting and providing supper.

Wild Roots is looking for a few responsible and motivated high school students who would like to earn volunteer hours this summer by helping chaperone our younger campers. Come join us July 20-23 (9am-4pm) for our Summer Music Camp.
You do not have to be a music student or trained in music to participate.
