It’s swarm season!
This week we were lucky enough to catch not one, and not two, but THREE swarms! They were all located in the same ditch.
Unfortunately, one of the swarms took off on us the next day, that happens sometimes 🤷🏼‍♀️
If you spot a swarm, don’t panic. They are too busy moving on to a new home to bother you. If you can, contact a beekeeper so they can be collected. This can help prevent them from moving into a place where they aren’t wanted, like the walls of someone’s house.

Beekeepers in the US are currently seeing the largest loss of honey bee colonies in over a decade. While we have been fortunate in past years with little to no loss, this year we lost all but 2 hives over the winter.
We would like to thank all of our customers who have purchased our honey and honey products. Thanks to your support, we have been able to purchase new bees! The #1 way everyone can help the bees is by supporting your local beekeepers.

Did a quick check of the hives this weekend before it gets cold 🥶 again.
People often think bees hibernate, but in fact they stay active all winter long. They cluster around the queen and heat the hive by moving their wings. On nice days, like yesterday, they will fly out to 💩 and carry out dead bees.
In this picture you can see the bees are eating sugar that we added in the fall. The sugar helps absorb moisture and acts as an additional food source over the winter.
Stay warm ladies! We will see you again on another “nice” winter day.

We will be at Lucky 7 coffee shop in Manson tonight from 5-8! It happens to be their grand opening. They are located on highway 7 right across from Highway 7 Market.
We will of course have honey, but we also have some new beeswax products we are excited about!
