As daylight gets shorter, it's easy for an evening walk or workout to quietly disappear from the schedule. Movement matters for blood sugar management, so it's worth protecting.

A few ways to keep it going:
- Shift a walk earlier in the day while there's still light
- Try a short indoor routine on darker evenings
- Pair movement with something you already do, like a call with a friend

Consistency matters more than intensity here.

A sensor falling off before its time is more common than people think, and it's usually fixable.

- Check your manufacturer's app first. Many report early sensor failures automatically and can flag a replacement.
- Note the date and reason if you remember it (swimming, snagging on clothing, sweat).
- Call Aptiva Medical if you're not sure whether it's covered. Replacement policies vary by device and by plan.

A few extra adhesive patches on hand can also help sensors stay put through workouts or warm weather.

Labor Day usually means one more cookout before the weather turns. A few ways to enjoy it without the blood sugar rollercoaster:
- Fill your plate with grilled protein and vegetables first, save the buns and chips for later
- Bring a diabetes-friendly side so there's always something that works for you
- Keep an eye on your CGM trend line if you're active in the heat, not just the number in front of you

However you spend the day, we hope it's a good one.

If you're still using a Dexcom G6, here's something worth knowing: Dexcom has stopped manufacturing the G6 as of July 1, 2026.

Existing supplies may still be available for a while through pharmacies and distributors, but Dexcom is recommending that G6 users talk to their doctor about switching to the Dexcom G7 or Dexcom G7 15 Day.

If you're due for a conversation with your doctor about upgrading, Aptiva Medical can help with the paperwork and make sure your supply doesn't get interrupted along the way.

It's National Wellness Month — a good reminder that small habits add up.

A few that also happen to support steadier blood sugar:

- A short walk after meals
- Consistent sleep timing
- Staying ahead of hydration, especially in the heat

None of these require an overhaul. Small wins count.
