A year ago, my life changed in ways I never could have imagined. 💔
My food trailer, something I worked tirelessly to build, was forcefully taken away from me by people I trusted. It wasn’t just a business it was my livelihood, my dream, and my way of providing for my two little boys.
What many people don’t know is that this happened while I was dealing with a domestic violence case. I was repeatedly harassed, intimidated, and pressured to drop my case, with threats of consequences if I refused.I refused to be silenced, and I believe losing my business was retaliation for standing up for myself.
My trailer was rewrapped and taken to North Carolina, where people have no idea what happened to me here in South Florida. Meanwhile, I was left with the debt, without my primary source of income, and struggling to provide for my children.
They didn’t just take a trailer. They took away the financial stability of a mother and her two young boys.
Over the past year, I’ve lost almost everything. I’ve struggled ALOT and trying rebuild my life while watching something I poured my heart, soul, and hard work into continue operating without me.
I’ve filed a civil lawsuit to fight for what was taken from me and started a GoFundMe to help recover from the financial devastation.
No woman should ever have to choose between speaking up about domestic violence and protecting her livelihood. And no child should have to suffer because their mother refused to remain silent.
I’m not sharing my story for pity. I’m sharing it because my voice matters, my children deserve better, and I refuse to give up.
