As we adjust our clocks for Daylight Saving Time, everyday moments can become opportunities to explore time, sequencing, routines, and cause and effect.

For Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, these experiences can also encourage meaningful conversations, build vocabulary, and strengthen understanding of the world around them.

At Quill Model®, we believe learning is woven into everyday life. Sometimes, all it takes is a little extra time to notice the opportunity.

✨ Language opportunities are all around us.

Getting dressed. Cooking dinner. Watching a favorite show. Playing a game.

Everyday routines and shared experiences create meaningful opportunities to build vocabulary, explore concepts, ask questions, and grow language naturally.

For Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, recognizing these moments can help families bring language into the rhythm of everyday life. It doesn't always require a new activity or a structured lesson. Sometimes, the opportunity is already there.

The key is knowing how to recognize it and make the most of it. ✒️
