This month, we’re shining a spotlight on someone whose service goes far beyond the walls of the Home of Heroes Thrift Shop!
Clarice Papillion has been volunteering with us since January 2025, and she has found an incredible purpose for the T-shirts we’re unable to sell.
We give those shirts to Clarice, and she transforms them into reusable cloth diapers to be sent to families in Haiti.
The program has been unable to ship for a while due to unrest in Haiti, but they’ve now been cleared to send more than 900 cloth diapers next month!
We’re also excited that our own LaWanda Sexton has agreed to help Clarice sew the diapers!
And this is just one example of what our volunteers make possible. In September alone, our volunteers gave 60 hours of their time to the Home of Heroes!
