Turn an Old Bicycle Wheel Into a Magical Christmas Chandelier! 🎄✨

What You Need

An old bicycle wheel without the tire, evergreen branches, battery powered warm white fairy lights, Christmas ornaments in different sizes, transparent fishing line, three sturdy hanging chains, a large decorative bow, scissors, cable ties, and a properly secured ceiling hook.

How to Make It

🎄 1. Prepare the wheel. Clean an old bicycle wheel and paint it if desired. Secure three hanging chains evenly around the rim to keep it balanced.
🌿 2. Decorate the rim. Wrap evergreen branches around the wheel, securing them with cable ties. Weave warm white fairy lights through the greenery.
🎀 3. Hang the ornaments. Attach Christmas baubles to the wheel and spokes using fishing line. Use different lengths to create a cascading Christmas tree shape, with longer strings toward the center.
✨ 4. Add the finishing touches. Attach a large decorative bow and adjust the ornaments until they hang naturally without crowding each other.
🏡 5. Display your creation. Hang the chandelier from a ceiling support rated for its total weight, preferably above a dining table. Use lightweight, shatterproof ornaments and battery powered LED lights for a safer decoration.

We are pleased to share that the Fort Rucker Thrift Shop has been granted an extension beyond our previously announced December 31 closure date!

Thanks to the continued cooperation and support of Fort Rucker’s installation leadership, we are able to remain OPEN in our current location through March 31, 2027!

We are incredibly grateful for this additional time to continue serving our military families and the surrounding Wiregrass community.
