Never Forget, United We Stand
Remembering the fallen, and honoring those who served and sacrificed.

We have to face the facts and prepare ourselves for what tomorrow brings...we will see that what happened is being forgotten or dismissed by a large portion of America. It becomes a mention on a post, a quick note on the media outlets before they continue to talk about whatever destruction they come up with, etc.

Tomorrow, September 11th and Sept 12th carries a weight that is difficult to explain to someone who did not live through it. And with every year that passes, there are more people who were too young to remember, more who have forgotten, and sadly, some who dismiss or dishonor what that day truly means. The same can be said for Benghazi 2012...Hell, for any major historical event!

We cannot allow either story to disappear beneath the noise of politics, social media, or the passing of time. We have to keep telling the stories. Not to create fear. Not to push a political agenda. Not spread wild conspiracy theories, Not to sugarcoat what happened or turn it into convenient talking political points. Just tell the truth!

Tell the stories of the people who were there. Tell the stories of the people who never came home. Tell the stories of those who ran toward the danger while everyone else was trying to get away from it. Remember the sacrifice. Remember the courage. Remember the mistakes, the failures, the lessons, and the consequences. Because forgetting history does not make it less important. It only makes us more likely to repeat it.

I know tomorrow will bring a lot of emotions for many people. So today and tonight, take a moment to prepare yourself for that. Remember. Reflect. Say a prayer for those who were lost, for those who survived, and for the families who continue to carry those memories every single day.

It is one of the ways we keep the story alive and make sure what happened there is not forgotten. We owe them that!

Here is a challenge if you have read this far. On September 11th and 12th tag, blow up comments section, and email links of all major social media outlets, major social media "influencers", etc. with videos, photos, etc. calling for them to acknowledge what these days are about. Make them remember and to tell the true raw story that is not supercoated or dumbed down as to not offend anyone.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” There is a lot of truth packed into that one verse.

Human beings have been dealing with fear, failure, loss, success, betrayal, love, anger, joy, uncertainty, and adversity since the beginning of time. We like to think our problems are completely unique, that nobody could possibly understand what we're going through, but the truth is, somebody has walked that road before us. History has a funny way of repeating itself. Different faces, different places, different technology, but the same human nature.

People still make mistakes. People still screw things up. People still fall down, get back up, and occasionally trip over the same damn rock they just tripped over yesterday. The lesson isn't that nothing changes. The lesson is that we don't have to be surprised by the difficulties of life.

Hard times will come. Good times will come. People will disappoint you. People will amaze you. Plans will fail. Other plans will work out better than you ever imagined. That's life.

What matters is how you carry yourself through it. Don't waste today worrying about everything that happened yesterday or everything that might happen tomorrow. Learn from yesterday, prepare for tomorrow, but live today.

You don't control everything that happens around you. You never have. What you can control is your attitude, your effort, your discipline, your character, and what you choose to do with the hand you're dealt. Take a breath, straighten your back, get your head right, and get after it. If today decides to throw a little chaos your way, well... congratulations. Apparently you're on the schedule.

Keep moving forward. Keep learning. Keep laughing. Keep fighting for the things that matter. Appreciate the people standing beside you, and don't forget to enjoy the damn ride.

You only get one shot at this particular life. Make today count. Now get out there and make something good happen. You've got this.

For the next 12 days, I’m going to tell the story of Benghazi.

Not just what happened during those 13 hours on September 11 and 12, 2012.

I’m going back before that night.

Back to the warnings, back to the attacks that had already happened.

Back to what was going on in Benghazi months before 4 Americans were killed.

Some of what I’m going to share is already documented in congressional investigations and government records.

Some of it comes from people who have spent years digging into what happened afterward.

And some of it I know for one simple reason.

I was there.

I was serving on the CIA’s GRS Annex Security Team in Benghazi in 2012.

I was there while the security situation was getting worse.

I was there when the U.S. compound was attacked months before September 11.

I was there while Benghazi was becoming more dangerous and the warning signs kept piling up.

And on September 11, 2012, I was there when all of it came crashing down.

This isn’t about reopening some old political argument.

It’s about telling the story in the order it actually happened and remembering the 4 Americans who never came home because of OUR failed government and policies.
