So grateful to have our little family-owned shop here in the heart of Fort Smith! ❤️

These are the steps of our Secret Gardens, where we grow this enchanting trailing English Ivy. 🌿

We planted these Zinnias in the spring, and now cut them every few days for fresh fall vases.

Then, the Secret Garden surprised us with growth of this pumpkin 🎃

Hey, nice to meet you! 🌱

We are a small, family-owned business here in the heart of Fort Smith, Arkansas 🏡

We press and preserve flowers 💐

As locals, we often immerse ourselves in the culture of the city, including its beautiful history ⏳️

Today, we did just that, and attended the Fort Smith Fall Festival 🍂

It was a lovely opportunity to support fellow small businesses and farms- we saw so many familiar friendly faces 🚜

We picked up a fresh honeycomb and a medium salsa from Rose Farms- next time we will try their pickles 🥒

The Fort Smith Trolley Museum 🚎 sponsored free trolley rides today, in coordination with the Fort Smith Historical Society 🗝

Penelope had the honor of attending the The River Valley Social tonight at the Fort Smith Marshall's Museum!

Savvy Social Creative sponsored the evening and it was an incredible atmosphere- electric ⚡️

We got the chance to participate in the giveaways, enjoy some amazing drinks and appetizers, and play put-put golf with a view of the river!

We shook some friendly hands, learned new names, and saw some familiar faces. We even got the chance to give our host a much-deserved gift, the bookmark in this video!

Great to see such appetite for opportunity here in the River Valley, and glad to represent Botanical Bookmarks for all your flower pressing needs💐

Time passes quickly in the gardens, but so slowly on the shelf! From start to finish, producing one of our artisanal bookmarks can take an entire year's time⏳️

We source heirloom seeds, sow the flowers in our Secret Gardens, wait weeks for seedlings, then months of patient watering for blooms, and lastly we cut fresh flowers! 💐

The flowers are gently deconstructed over the course of two full days, then they are placed between the plates of our professional botanical press for weeks 🌼

Each species has a different deconstruction process and a unique drying duration to achieve our paper-thin and permanent preservation📜

If you told younger me that my "job" would literally involve letting gravity flip through books packed with thousands of real flower petals... I wouldn't have believed you. 🌸

My botanical bookmarks are handmade from start to finish, starting right here in these pages. Drop a 🌸 if you love pressed flowers!

Truly feels like a dream every single day. 🥹✨

It takes months of foraging, sorting, and pressing thousands of individual petals before they ever make it into a bookmark or custom art piece—but seeing this archive grow makes every second worth it.

It's a match! I couldn't resist bringing a few of our bestselling floral bookmarks, to swatch alongside the hot air balloons. Capturing these live swatches was one of the highlights of the evening for a flower nerd like me!

This weekend our artisans visited a Lavender farm to collect blooms for the newest editions of our bookmarks! These beautiful Lavender stems have reached the perfect stage for gathering, and will be marvelously fragrant. It will be lovely to sew a few into scent-sachets, available on our shop soon!
