Today's the day!

We'll see you bad cats starting at 11:00 a.m. - doors open, and the website is finally, actually live (badcatknitgoods.com, go poke around).

We close up at 6:00 p.m. tonight, but don't worry if you can't make it today - we're not going anywhere. And mark your calendar now: our first Stitch Night is Thursday, September 24th. Bring a project, bring a problem row, bring nothing but yourself. There will be tea and coffee and a cozy place to sit, stitch, and make friends.

Tomorrow's the Big Day.

𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 | 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵-𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵 | 𝗧𝗵𝘂 𝟭𝟭-𝟲, 𝗙𝗿𝗶 𝟭𝟭-𝟲, 𝗦𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟮-𝟰

A few things to know before you come:

Natalie - yes, the Natalie, the one who built this place and community - will be here all three days until around 3:00, greeting old friends, meeting new ones, and helping ring people up. If you've missed her, this is your chance to say hi.

And Rachael has been carefully selecting and packing the prize bags for Saturday. She's excited to meet everyone!

Saturday brings a prize drawing and snacks, because a celebration this big deserves both. Come hang out, enter to win, and see the shop in full swing. (If you can't make it on Saturday, don't worry, you can enter the drawing on Thursday or Friday also, and we'll put your ticket in the bag.)

Come by and check it all out! It's been a lot of work, and we're excited to finally invite you in.

𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀' (formerly Knitting Off Broadway) 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵-𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵!

My daddy always told me, take however long you think a project will take, and double it. Then double it again. He wasn't wrong. But we're finally to the finish line, and opening for real, for a three day event! The whole shop, doors open for good.

Here are the details:

📅 Sept 17–19 at 1309 Broadway
🧶 Thu 9/17: 11am–6pm
🧶 Fri 9/18: 11am–6pm
🧶 Sat 9/19: 12pm–4pm (the big one)

Saturday gets food, drinks, mystery gifts, and a prize drawing. No purchase necessary, just walk in and exist near the yarn.

Then we're closing Sun/Mon to recover like responsible adults, and reopening for good on the following Tuesday, 9/22. Our regular hours will be:

Tue-Fri 11-6
Sat 12-4
Thursday Stitch Night 6-8

We've been quiet for a minute. Not because nothing's happening, but because everything is.

Sawdust on the floorboards, saws and drills purring, and an idea for a cash wrap turning from a trailer full of lumber into a stylish bit of cabinetry that'll help you check out. This is what "coming along" looks like. It's bit messy, a little loud, and very much still "happening" even when the posts slow down.

We're taking a beat today to catch our breath before diving back in tomorrow. Building a shop is a marathon, not a sprint, and we'd rather show up rested than run ourselves into the ground before the finish line. So we thought a little update was in order.

The grand opening is next month, and we're right on track, one board, one skein, and one slightly exhausted evening at a time.

Okay, we can't keep these under wraps any longer. These tiny 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘅𝗲𝘀 are really doing it for us. They're just too cute to keep to ourselves!

These little reproduction ceramic dishes, in 𝘃𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲-𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 retro florals - the kind of patterns that instantly transport you back to grandma's kitchen - are the perfect size for stitch markers, notions, or whatever tiny treasures deserve a proper place on your desk.

There are several patterns to choose from, so you can pick out your own personal miniature piece of your childhood.

It's Rachael's birthday, and she's spending the morning exactly how she wants: knitting on the patio with her sister, the morning sun, and an opinionated cat, who thinks she's supervising the whole operation. 🎂

If you know Rachael, you know this is her happy place. We're grateful every single day that she brings this kind of warmth into everything she does, and into everything she makes. And the shop build out is showing it. We can't wait to invite you all in!

Lazy Sunday mornings are better when you spend them with good people and good coffee. Last Sunday we spent the morning at Fort Wayne's Penny Drip coffee shop and cocktail bar. Penny Drip has the best London Fog I've ever had, and a fun, vibrant vibe we love to relax and knit in. Got a few rows on my current project finished. Should be completed soon!
