Today here at Crafty Coins we have a major announcement that we would like to make. For everyone who did not know, on Sunday August 9, 2026 while holding our prerelease for Magic the Gathering we lost power, which forced us to end our tournament early that day, which is something that we did not want to do. Some issues came to my attention after this occurred, and it gave me a perspective that I never thought about before. Sometimes when things are out of control, good things happen, and this was one of those situations. We first want to thank all players for following our safety instructions for that day and for being nice. While I know that there was some disappointment in how the tournament ended (because we couldn’t wait 6 hours for the power to turn back on) we decided to help with this to give out additional store credit which we would not originally have handed out. This led to a happy little accident which now has become store policy. For tournaments here on out that is for Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Riftbound, Universus and Lorcana, for any win you get, you will get $10 in store credit. For the Bandai Games and Yugioh the policy will remain the same due to us not being able to hand out store credit as prizing although we would much very like to do that
Now time for the bad news. The storms have also led us to find out the problem with issuing tickets for store prizing, which is we cannot hand it out if there is no power. So, to avoid that problem and make it easier on my store staff, the store credit must be spent on the day of the tournament. If you have outstanding store credit from previous tournaments, those tickets are still good, but going forward, the store credit must be spent the day of the tournament. In addition, if you participated in the Magic the Gathering prerelease that was held on August 9, 2026, you store credit will be good until September 9, 2026. You also must stay until the end of the tournament to get the store credit. So if you leave early, you do not get the store credit.
