Full circle: the Avenue Tank is finished, blocked, and finally out living its best summer life.

This one had a whole lot behind it before it left the mat. A coffee shop, a walk in the woods, several mornings on the patio in the sun, and finally, blocking. Watching it go from skeins of yarn to something as gorgeous as this is the best part of this whole craft.

Wednesday WIP, posting on a Friday, because apparently time is also a WIP this week. Oops.

This one's the slow-build kind of project. It started in a coffee shop, took a trip to the woods, spent some time on our patio in the morning sun, and is finally pinned down for blocking.

This is the Avenue Tank, a pattern by Tori Yu, on Ravelry. It's knitted in Spincycle's Dyed In The Wool, Poppy yarn. We love the way the stripes shift from gray to magenta to deep blue-purple. And it's just as satisfying in person as it is in the photos.

This one'll be a store sample once we open our doors this fall, and we'll be carrying the yarn too, so you can come touch it, try the tank on, and start your own.

We've been quiet for a minute. Not because nothing's happening, but because everything is.

Sawdust on the floorboards, saws and drills purring, and an idea for a cash wrap turning from a trailer full of lumber into a stylish bit of cabinetry that'll help you check out. This is what "coming along" looks like. It's bit messy, a little loud, and very much still "happening" even when the posts slow down.

We're taking a beat today to catch our breath before diving back in tomorrow. Building a shop is a marathon, not a sprint, and we'd rather show up rested than run ourselves into the ground before the finish line. So we thought a little update was in order.

The grand opening is next month, and we're right on track, one board, one skein, and one slightly exhausted evening at a time.

Some weeks, the only way to finish a row is just to leave the house completely.

Today's 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗜𝗣 took a detour to 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲, off Lindenwood Avenue here in Fort Wayne. The dappled light in the semi-deep woods gives just enough quiet to make real stockinette progress on the 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗸. Turns out a serene stitch and a peaceful forest are a perfect pairing.

Rosie Cotton's resume is short: professional yarn supervisor, occasional menace, full-time reason we can't leave a project unattended for five minutes. That's pretty much it.

She doesn't knit. She doesn't need to. She's got a whole staff for that.

It's Rachael's birthday, and she's spending the morning exactly how she wants: knitting on the patio with her sister, the morning sun, and an opinionated cat, who thinks she's supervising the whole operation. 🎂

If you know Rachael, you know this is her happy place. We're grateful every single day that she brings this kind of warmth into everything she does, and into everything she makes. And the shop build out is showing it. We can't wait to invite you all in!
