TEACHING STRATEGIES & REGULATIONS
Welcome to Danvera Music Network, where we totally devote our time and lives towards bringing the musical talents out of the kids and adults with fun & learning. We practice teaching in high esteem and with passion which made us what we are today!!! REACHING CHILDREN WITH MUSIC
Assisting children in their foundational musical development is similar to their language acquisition processes. As a professional musician, we help children grow musically (and in all learning domains) by:
• Immersing a child in musical conversations as we sing, speak rhythmically, move expressively, and play musical instruments. This stimulates children’s initial awareness of the beauty and the structure of musical sound.
• Encouraging a child’s musical responses through smiling, nodding, and also by responding with our own expressive sounds and movements. This sends a message to children that music making is a valuable and important behavior.
• Finding ways to encourage and motivate a child’s playful exploration, interpretation, and understanding of musical sound. This includes many kinds of musical experiences throughout children’s daily routines. DANVERA’S TEACHING STRATEGIES:
1. NOTICE YOUR STUDENTS
One of the most important parts of managing your class sessions is to notice your student – know what you’re dealing with. Identify students who might have a potential to be disruptive and relate to them. If a student seems troublesome, find a way that you can communicate to him/her.
2. USE POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT
Don’t forget that we all want to be noticed for our good characteristics. If the good in a person is not recognized, the bad will – their qualities will be identified in one way or the other. Positive reinforcement is used to manage behavior by giving something to a student to make a good behavior happen again.
3. USE REWARDS & INCENTIVES
It can be very beneficial to have rewards or incentives for hard work and class cooperation. It can keep them working as a team/group and utilize positive peer pressure. TEACHERS & STUDENTS
Achieving productive music educational results should be every teacher’s desire, and the only way to accomplish this is the teacher’s ability to manage the behavior of their students. Teachers tends to struggle with disruptive behavior, and many teachers don’t possess effective method to handle those problem situations. Note, many students are potential smart, having a higher music aptitude, and can be a tremendous advantage to the teacher. Danvera’s approach is having an 100% patient at all time.
• Self-control has been defined in many ways--as willpower, self-discipline, or conscientiousness. But however we define it, self-control is about being able to regulate oneself.
• Can you resist distractions? Get a handle on your own emotions? Inhibit your impulses? Delay gratification and plan ahead.
• And what about school? To get along in the classroom, kids need to pay attention, follow directions, stay motivated, and control their impulses. So we might expect self-control to play an important role in academic achievement.
