🎉 **One Year of My Author Page!** 📚✍️

One year ago today, I took a step that was both exciting and a little scary—I started my author page on Facebook.

At the time, I wasn’t sure where this journey would lead. I simply knew that I had stories to tell, words to share, and a desire to hopefully encourage and inspire others through my writing.

Looking back over this past year, I’m incredibly thankful. I’ve learned so much, grown as a writer, and had the privilege of connecting with so many wonderful people along the way.

Every like, comment, share, and encouraging message has meant more to me than you probably realize.

Writing has always been about more than putting words on a page for me. It’s about sharing experiences, faith, hope, and the lessons life teaches us—and maybe helping someone else along the way.

So today, I’m celebrating one year of this author journey.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along, encouraged me, read something I’ve written, or simply stopped by to support me.

Here’s to the first year—and to whatever God has planned for the pages still waiting to be written. 🙏📖

The Great Adventure- Joshua 1:9

In 1993 I heard the song that would become my all time favorite song. I had no idea that it would shape my faith and my life. It has truly become my life song. The song is The Great Adventure by Steven Curtis Chapman. When the times come, I want it to be played at my funeral. I listen to it two times a day. It’s even my alarm clock. You can even ask Samantha, my wife, at 5:30 am on the days that I am working, “we saddle up our horses” every morning.

If you have not heard it before, I encourage you to do just that.

We all want adventure. We do not want discipline. We want easy. We want comfort. It takes discipline to choose adventure over comfort. That is the adventure that leads to knowing and pursuing God.

Living the great adventure of the Christian life means trusting God step-by-step, stepping out in faith like Abraham and other heroes of the Bible, and letting the Holy Spirit guide your daily choices. It’s a journey of moving past fear, discovering your unique purpose, and experiencing God’s power in unexpected places.

I believe there are five steps to live the great adventure of the Christian life:

1. Walk by faith- 2 Cor. 5:7 . Obey God’s call even when you do not see the final destination.

2. Talk with God- Jeremiah 29:12-13. Pray honestly and listen for his voice every day.

3. Share His love- 1 Peter 3:15. Tell others about Jesus and help others in need.

4. Let go of fear - Isaiah 41:10. Trust that God is with you and will not abandon you.

5. Stay rooted in the Bible- Psalms 1:2 . Read God’s word daily to renew your mind and find your strength.

Life with God is the ultimate, unpredictable journey. There will be highs, lows, ups, downs, laughter and tears. It’s a journey like no other. The most important part of it all is that the Lord will be leading us the whole way.

Are you willing to saddle up your horses and follow the Lord on the greatest adventure you will ever see?

Legacy- Deuteronomy 11:21

Legacy is a word that I have been thinking about lately. It’s something that is transmitted from the past or from an ancestor.

The true meaning of legacy extends far beyond material wealth. A true legacy is the enduring impact of your life on others.

It can be values that are passed down, memories that are created, and the positive impact you have on people.

As Christians we want to leave a legacy that is spiritual and moral that points others to christ.

A christian legacy generally encompasses three key components.
1. Spiritual inheritance
2. Christ-like Character
3. Generational Blessing

I want to leave a legacy of faith. A faith like David, Noah, Abraham, and the many other heroes of the faith.

I believe we can do just that in three ways.

1. Love God- Mark 12:30
2. Serve God- Luke 4:8
3. Believe God every day- John 3:16

My challenge to me and you is this. What legacy are we leaving behind? Will our legacy impact our family, friends, co workers, fellow believers, unbelievers, or even the body of Christ throughout the world?

A strong spiritual legacy doesn’t just happen by accident. We need to be intentional about what kind of legacy we want to leave behind.

Spend time with others. Encourage others. Share your story. Offer wisdom and always point them to Christ and his Word.

What will your legacy be?

Passion

For the past few days I have been praying over and thinking about the word passion. It is one of my favorite words.The Lord has given me three words to use to go along with the word passion.

1. Seek- to seek him in all we do. Jeremiah 29:13
2. Serve- to serve him in all we do. Joshua 24:15
3. Share- to share him with others. Mark 16:15

He has also revealed to me several different statements to think about when it comes to passion.

1. One of the greatest qualities about passion is that it is genuine. You can't fake it. Your passion is yours.

2. Passion is the biggest motivator within our lives.

3. If money was no longer an issue, what would you spend your time on? That is your passion.

4. Passion is something that you do because you have too. It is a part of you. We do not choose passion, we find it.

5. Passion is what keeps you going when everything around you starts to crumble.

6. A life lived without passion is no life at all.

7. God given passion is perhaps the greatest gift that God bestows on humans.

8. Life is too short to wonder, "what if."

9. You cannot put a price on passion.

10. A passionate individual with the ability to change the world will surely do.

11. When you find your passion you will unlock your potential and set out to become the person that God created you to be.

Do you know what your passion is? Are you using it? God has a plan and passion for each of us.

The passion he has given each of us will help us to seek him, serve him, and share him daily.

We are called to use whatever gifts he has given us to use for his glory.

Be passionate about your passion and use it for God's glory.

Earlier today I was praying and reading through 2 Chronicles and the Lord hit me with this thought so I had to write it down. I am not in a leadership position at work but as christians we help to lead believers and non believers to Jesus so in a way that is leadership.

So the thought the Lord gave me is this…. Those you lead will always follow your example, but that should not affect the way you live for God.

It was an encouragement to me and pray it is the same for you.

Build A Boat- Genesis 6:22- Noah did everything that God commanded him

Noah is one of my Biblical heroes. The more I read about his faith, the more I want my faith to be like his. That is my prayer. A faith that is set apart.

The story of Noah and the flood is one of God’s judgment and His salvation: of Noah’s obedience and the world’s disobedience. In an era of extreme wickedness, Noah set him self apart by living righteously.

Noah’s faith is one to be commended. Not because it was faith in his head or in his heart but because it reached to his hands. He listened and heard from God. He was gripped by what he heard and then put his faith into practice.

Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord and put his faith into action.

The ark represents our life. Our lives that God has given us represent the vessels that God uses for his purposes.

So, what are lessons that we can learn from Noah and the ark that he was called to build? I believe there are five lessons.

1. We are responsible to build- Gen. 6:14a

At some point we may “stumble” into our purpose and destiny but you see life is not about stumbling into purpose, it’s about building our purpose.

2. Build with the right tools- Gen. 6:15

God is very detailed oriented and was very specific to Noah about how to build the ark.

If we use the wrong tools to build our life and we build it the wrong way, we will waste precious time. We must make sure that we build our life on the word of God and everything that is written in it.

God gave us all gifts to use and not store them away.

3. God provides as we build Gen. 6:19-20

Nosh was called to be responsible to build the ark, but God told him that the animals will come to him. The Lord will provide all that we need as we are faithful to build our lives.

Now is the time to get moving and see the dreams and callings that God has blessed you with. He will bring what you need.

We must step out first and then the provision will come from God.

4. Prepare for the future Gen. 6:21

Noah was told by God to prepare. Food had to be stored in advance.

God calls us to prepare our lives for when opportunity comes.

If you want to be ready for when the time comes, we must prepare in advance.

5. Be patiently patient Gen. 7:4-6

Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came to the earth.

Noah started building the ark and he continued for 365 days times 120 years. Not just a few days. That is some serious patience.

No excuses were made. No corners will cut. Noah did all that God commanded of him.

We must be patient for God’s timing.

We are called to be faithful and build but also to be patient for the promise to be fulfilled.

Patience is a requirement when it comes to God’s timing.

To get where we are called to go, we will have to go little by little and day by day.

So, the question now is are you willing to build a boat?

How To Walk On Water- Matthew 14:22-33

One of the most well known stories in the Bible about Jesus’ life and ministry is the account given of Jesus walking on water. WOW. Imagine that for a second. Jesus walking on water while you and I casually walk down the sidewalk.

This account is mentioned in three of the four gospels. We find them in John 6:16-22, Mark 6:45-52 and Matthew 14:22-27. Each of these accounts provide us with the unique details and complement one another regarding this most amazing and unprecedented event. I would recommend reading each account. I would like to focus on the account from Matthew. Within this account, I believe we can learn five truths about how we can walk on water with a faith that involves taking action and to follow where he is leading us even when we don’t know the reason and unsure of the outcome.

1. By seeing Jesus in our storm.

2. Hearing and responding to what he says to us.

3. Refusing to allow our surroundings to intimate us.

4. Not being afraid to do what the others in the boat won’t do.

5. Choosing to do what is possible and not settling for what is reasonable.

All God needs and desires is something to work with and heart to work through. Unbelief is the only thing that can stop God. (Matt. 13:58)

God can’t lie, fail, change, or be pleased without faith. You will need to make a quality commitment today to developing your own faith and trusting God to work in your life. Trust me, when you do that your life will change forever.

The Dash- (Psalms 139:16)

One of my favorite things to do is walk around cemeteries, especially old ones. I love to look at the head stones and think about the lives of those who have been laid to rest. I wonder what kind of person they were and what kind of lives they lived.

On each tombstone and grave marker is the date of birth and date of death for each life lived for how ever long. Between the two dates is a dash. The dash is what always catches my eye.

The dash represents the life lived. Each dash is equal. Each life has a story and a purpose. It’s not about our length of time but the meaning of the life lived. You only get one dash. It’s not the dates that are important. It’s the dash. God determines the length of our dash, we determine how the dash is lived.

There is a contrast between the kind of life we have on our own and the kind of life we have in Christ. There is no comparison.

There are many times when we make the mistake of believing that just because we have breath that we are alive. That is far from the truth. There are a lot of people who have a pulse but have no idea how to live. Just because we are breathing doesn’t mean that we are alive.

So how do we live the life that Jesus died to give us?

1. We seek him.

1 Chronicles 16:11- Look to the Lord and his strength, seek his face always.

We will never be able to get through this life on our own. We need what only Jesus can give us.

2. We serve others.

Mark 10:45- “For the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life has a ransom for many.”

There is no better way to love people than to serve them. Look for opportunities to reach out and help others. We serve Jesus by serving those around us.

3. We share Jesus.

Mark 16:15- He said to them- “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

We share our lives with people every day. We need to share with them the best news of our lives. There is no more loving thing that you can do than to share Jesus.

It all comes back to the dash. Seize the day. Live the life that Jesus died to give you.

So how do you plan on living the dash of your life?
