**Current Conditions - September 11, 2026**

The Ohio River at Meldahl Dam is currently at 22.48 feet and is expected to remain at this level until Saturday afternoon, when it will begin to decrease. The current flow at the dam is 118 kcfs. The surface water temperature is in the mid to high seventies. Water clarity around the hydro discharge is heavily stained to muddy, and there is a mud line forming in the main river below the dam. This morning, a decent amount of debris has come through the locks. Above the dam, water clarity varies; tributaries on both sides of the dam show mixed conditions. Scattered rain showers yesterday affected clarity, with some areas receiving a substantial amount of rain while others got just enough to settle the dust.

**Fishing Reports:** Overall fishing reports are very minimal, with only a handful being positive.

**Meldahl Dam:** Fishing at the dam this past week has been slow. There has been some light hybrid action in the mornings and late evenings. There has also been some light baitfish action very light with small windows of opportunity.

**River Reports:** The main river has produced the most reports again this week, with catfish being the most targeted and caught.

**Tributaries:** Tributaries included various species, with smallmouth bass the most mentioned.

**Lakes and Ponds:** Lakes and ponds received a handful of reports: bass, bluegill, and channel catfish were mentioned.

**FINS Lakes:** Again, bass were the most reported catch from FINS this week, followed by channel catfish.

Thank you all for your continued support of these reports and for sharing your catches with us! We hope this information is helpful. Stay safe, have fun, and create lasting memories! Tight lines,

Here is an update on current conditions at Meldahl Dam. It still looks the same: above the dam is still muddy; below the dam is thick, muddy, and chunky, with lots of debris. There's still a lot of tributaries upstream that are flowing strong espeaily coming out of West Virginia. Not sure when that will start affecting us or if it's already estimated in the current charts. Sorry for the shaky, squeaky tripod; it's new and heavier-duty than our old one, trying to break it in.

Here's a quick update on the current conditions at Meldahl Dam.

We've received numerous calls and messages regarding the river, so we will do the report early this week. We also apologize for not posting a report last week; we were having technical difficulties. Here are the latest details.

The Ohio River at Meldahl Dam is currently at 34.68 feet and is expected to crest at 36.20 feet by Wednesday morning. After that, it is forecasted to drop quickly into the weekend to around 20 feet. The current is heavy and fast, and there is a lot of debris in the water. The flow rate is 229 kcfs, which is around 102,782,338 gallons per minute. The water clarity is muddy and thick.

No positive fishing reports, mainly due to last week's weather and current conditions.

Thank you all for your continued support of these reports and for sharing your catches with us! We hope this information is helpful. Stay safe, have fun, and create lasting memories! Tight lines,
