Coyotes can be hunted year round in Kansas. but if you plan to hunt at night with special equipment, make sure you’re following the updated rules.

Night Vision / Thermal / Artificial Light season:
✅ Allowed Sept. 1 – March 31
❌ Not allowed during antlered fi***rm deer seasons

For the 2025–2026 season, the regulation change means the legal dates are:
• Sept. 29 – Dec. 2, 2025
• Dec. 15 – Dec. 31, 2025
• Jan. 1 – March 31, 2026 (Night vision ends March 31)

A few important reminders:
• A Night Vision Equipment Permit is required (in addition to a hunting license).
• This equipment cannot be used on KDWP department lands and waters, including WIHA.
• No vehicle use in conjunction with night vision/thermal/artificial light equipment.

Kansas weather is unpredictable… but these dates aren’t. 😉
Before you head out, double-check regulations and hunt safe.
